Found The Bell as was looking for somewhere to stay over for one night in Chipping Sodbury. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Room 4. Lovely decor and the breakfast was superb all freshly cooked by John I think! the landlord.nnWe didn't get chance to enjoy a Sunday roast but the restaurant was full and the food coming out as we checked in looked extremely tasty. Look forward to returning at some point.
I was very disappointed the last time I dined here. I won't be visiting again.nnWe booked for lunch but when we arrived we were told we would have to wait to order; it was the week before Christmas and, understandably they were quite busy.nnA waiter did eventually take our orders and there was another longish wait, for which the staff apologised. The food, when it did eventually arrive, was nice enough.nnWhat annoyed me is that we were then abandoned. We waited for 40 minutes but nobody came to clear our plates, still less offer us coffee and dessert. I understand that they had been busy but really, if you can't cater for people then don't take their bookings.nnSome family members later told me they'd recently booked a table here but then had to wait more than an hour before they could even order.nnI finally went to the bar to pay, and noticed some of the staff enjoying their own lunch in the next room. I declined to pay the 10% service charge which was automatically added to the bill - happy to pay for good service, but not for bad.nnFortunately there are quite a few other eateries in and around Chipping Sodbury.
We came here today for a family Christmas meal. All staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was utterly delicious, and very reasonably priced too. The pub is very clean, bright and spacious. We will definitely be back again, thank you!
Didn't realise rooms were available. Food was excellent, nice sized portions, staff professional and friendly. Lovely atmosphere, would go back. Food was more expensive than I would normally pay, however the quality of the food was worth the money.
Such a fabulous find! Stayed briefly for lunch, and found that yes ladies really do do lunch in this little corner of the world.nChipping Sodbury was our destination to buy daughters new car and we ate at The Bell Inn before going home.nWe initially had tea by the real fire before lunch.nAbsolutely fantastic service and the food was delicious.nThe touch that was really great was when we ordered food and thought daughter would have returned from completing the paperwork, to eat. It took her longer and the staff offered to take her food back to the kitchen to keep it warm and fresh.nThere was plenty of it too so I ended up taking some home in a small box.nThe decor is gorgeous, the prices great. Free car parking and the facilities all on the same level so great for those with lesser abilities.
