The first time I came here was for the Women's England Football World Cup final. The atmosphere was good. I ordered a cordial with 2 orange juices and I remember it being expensive. Today I had a lemonade cordial which cost £4.10, very expensive in my opinion. The pub is based on Gloucester Road so the outside bit is quite noisy.
Great pub, great atmosphere, good quality pool tables and darts. Nice pub garden, lots of screens to watch sports. Definitely recommend!
We pre booked a table here to watch the Lionesses in the World Cup final, we asked for a prime location seat and we certainly got one. Beer was good and atmosphere was great,nnGood value as well,nnOnly downside was the cauliflower wings we had.. gosh they were horrendous and we didn’t really eat them. All the other food was great
I went here for lunch today with my son and couldn't have wished for a better experience. The chap behind the bar was very friendly. We ordered our food and drink... I had southern fried chicken wrap and a very large hot chocolate and my son had the veggie all day breakfast and a pint of diet coke. There was some sort of lunch deal on and it came to around £14.60 which I thought was good.nThe food came out in roughly ten minutes and was amazing! There was a relaxed atmosphere here with soft music playing. Thete are various tv screens around showing sport but no volume. We had nearly opted for one of the trendy coffee shops down the Gloucester road but I'm so glad we decided on here. I'll definately go back. I'd like to try some of the big choice of ciders there too at some point. I was particularly impressed that they have a no straw rule reducing.plastic waste too. See my photos too ..
Would just like to thank Amber for her prompt and great service, excellent pint pouring and bubbly fun personality!nnThe food is great here, the chefs know what they are doing. My personal go to is the Mighty Meat pizza or one of the burgers, they are truly terrific!nnThe pub has all manners of sports to watch, from Premier League and Championship games to F1 and Golf.nnThe Anchor is also equipped with 2 pool tables and a darts which is always fun to play over a pint of cold beer.nnThe beer garden has booths and heaters for those colder evenings, accommodating to everyone's needs!nnOnce again, thank you Amber!
