Awesome food for a great price. The beef and ale pie was amazing. The 3.99 nachos were quite good too, including the optional chili. Service was very attentive and helpful with questions about the menu items.
Lovely pub in Haddington and one of the best menus. Food is great with a great choice for everyone. Staff are very friendly. This pub has now become our local since moving to Haddington. Love it!
We went on Easter Sunday 2 adults and 2 children. We went in ans were seated fast but no menus given and expected to have drink order of what we want soon as we sat down. Brought use drinks but still no menu then a group of 8 comes in and the staff move a table to join onto table next to us leaving approx 2 inch gap between us and other table, we did pull our table further away but due to it being a walkway it still felt close to other table. Eventually got menu and had it 20seconds before asking what we want to order had to explain just had the menu as new staff kept appearing and disappearing so it seemed very unorganised and nobody had a clue. Food was lovely but long wait and it was that long when we were waiting for main afyer our starter one waiter asked if we were waiting on our bill so clearly aware how long we had been there. Eventually we had ate and asked for the bill, there was a promotion on "KIDS EAT FREE" sadly this promotion was false advertisement as we were charhed, I queried it and £6 was taken off the bill BUT still kids starters and dessert on bill so again I asked to be told we amended it and took the main off... Well it should be "KIDS MAINS FREE" AND NOT "KIDS EAT FREE". Overall service was terrible, nobody had a clue what they were doing, by son ordered blackcurrant squash and got orange juice but he drank iy and kept it 2nd time we knew we would be leaving soon so asked for small glasses but again brought large glasses and charged us for larger amount. Need more staff and a more organised service. Said I would try it, tried it now and wont be back and will tell family and friends not to bother!
Had a great family meal afternoon. All the meals were lovely - great portions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was fresh and clean. Overall very happy A+
Delivery honest opinion with full break down off order Scotsman burger easy 4* could have been easy 5* as it arrived not piping hot and not cold but hot to warm overall issue as you will see skin on fries with peppercorn sauce it was delicious and could easy be rated 5* On there own. Mac and cheese easy 4* same as above very easily could have been 5* lovely and cheesy Mixed grill this requires a breakdown of its own rib eye steak 5* succulent and tender the way I personally like it rare to medium rare. Chicken 4* touch on the dry side but still nice. Gammon steak 3* rather tough and chewy The rest of the mixed grill 3* i feel like it was a bit lacking 2 sausages one piece of bacon one egg and single black pudding small tub of peas which were nice single large mushroom and half a tomato would rate higher if there was 2 pieces of bacon and pudding and a full tomato but again that my personal opinion quality overall 4* it's a hard to say it's worth it's price without the previously mentioned and arriving as above but it could be said I'm being picky. Sticky toffee pudding missus says 4* myself 5* it really depends On your sweet tooth I personally loved it where as my partner though it needed more syrup but we both agreed would have been lovely with a single small scope of ice cream. I give the meal an overall 4 out of 5* in terms of quality being all of half a mile away was slightly disappointed with overall heat of meal and in terms of value for money it's hard to say yes quality food overall good portions if it had been piping hot it would have been at least a 4.5* meal value touch on the expensive side but I would go back as there are a few more things on the menu I would really like to try burgers are a big thing for myself and the braised steak and ale pie and a slice of Apple pie and when I do I will give another honest opinion. on a side note I know a lot of places make the majority of there money on soft drinks but £1.50 a can is over the top I could justify a pound but not £1.50
Lost a little of its charm, not really an old school pub any more. Food was ok. Menu choices were fine Still not sure about the new name. Should have kept the railway, shame.
Good food, reasonably priced and good quality. Prompt service. Big screen upstairs in the loft bar for sports. Brilliant pub quiz on Tuesday nights.
2nd visit was disappointing. Shared starter of nachos was just chips and squeezey cheese for £7 Steak was really good. Cooked perfectly and very tasty.
The food was good although chicken was a bit overcooked. It's a very nice place to enjoy the company of your family. A bit loud at times but it's a pub.
Went to the Bell on Saturday the 9 June The decoration is done to a high standard... We were greeted by a very smart and happy young men... Took our drink order and we asked if ok to sit for lunch ... He gave us a menu and we were taken a back with the selection on there weekend menu....something for everyone... Young man came back and took our Order.. Wow when our food came it was 10/10..we had the steak and onion bagette....and chicken and bacon melt.... Wow I tried the steak and it was melt in the mouth that was really good.... My chicken melt was 10/10... We also had time for a pudding cause you always need pudding.... So given the menu to see what there was..great selection again... We both went for lemon pie.and OMG this was a moment... Came with ice cream and strawberries...and it was just melt in the mouth..... Great value for money and service was great too.... Nice selection of food and drinks... Keep up the good work guys.... I will be back...
