A beautiful pub installed just by the waterfront in a wonderful setting, donned by an old bridge and church across the water, picturesque. The staff were nice and service was prompt, the offerings were good, gastro pub style food, simply, with a standard bar with some "alright" beer. We had fish and chips and the Pork Loin with a mixed bean sauce and new potatoes, which were really good in all honesty. I enjoyed it, but it could be more... its definitely for the locals, which is great, but it could level up.
Food 9.4/10, service 9.3/10. Amazing restaurant or bistro in East Lothian. Always be excited to come back here and enjoy the river sight and fantastic food with great service. The food always fresh and pint tap as well. £18-30, 20-35mins.
Edit - Came back again, staff were outstanding and the food was incredible. Fancied trying a new place for lunch and saw good reviews here. Sat outside with my dog. Staff were excellent and very attentive. Food was amazing, really impressed. Definitely coming back here again.
I've just moved to Haddington and what a great wee find this place is. I booked a table for two very late on the Saturday night for a late Sunday Lunch. A fantastic warm and friendly welcome to this beautiful and quirky establishment. Service was quick and efficient with knowledgeable and attentive staff. For starter I had melon and prawn marie rose. Simple and very pleasant, beautifully presented and with the freshest of ingredients. For main I had the lamb shank which was scrumptious and fell off the bone. The smoked bacon mash and meat jus were excellent. I had Drambuie and Orange cheesecake for sweet whilst my partner had the home made sticky toffee pudding. Both dishes were a total triumph and we left two very full and satisfied customers. A great first meal out in Haddington and I hope to have several more trips here in the future. Beautiful location and lovely to see that they are dog friendly too. A big plus. Will definitely be back.
Interesting, contemporary menu showcasing local, seasonal and sustainable produce. Look out for daily specials. Welcoming, knowledgeable friendly staff enhance the visit. Pleasant interiors, gorgeous view of the Tyne. Generally a charming eatery with a great menu in a lovely location.
Wonderful Sunday Roast at a beautiful location overlooking a river across from a church. Friendly staff and delicious fare. Not to be missed. Parking: Around 20 spaces out at the back.
Fantastic place to eat..we had a great table upstairs and received excellent service. The quality of the food serves was outstanding
In an idyllic riverside setting, this is a historic bistro in line with its best European equivalents. In terms of romantic atmosphere, real cuisine and impeccable service, it is streets ahead of many Edinburgh establishments attenpting the same approach to bistro hospitality. From the moment you step over the threshold into to be greeted by friendly professionals, you know you are in good hands. Not so much a meal as a real gastronomic experience.
Amazing location, fantastic service and really good food! Visited with my wife and 2 daughters for lunch whilst in Haddington and must say was very impressed with everything about this place! Food and drink were amazing and the service was excellent, definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area
The family and I have visited the area on holiday from the West Midlands. Came across the Waterside during a Google search and booked online. Such lovely setting, staff are very friendly and the food was gorgeous! Thanks for a fabulous lunch.
