One of my most favorite places to dine. Locally sourced produced. Meals perfectly cooked and well presented every time. Cosy and classic rooms and dining areas. Small menus but are frequently changed, accommodating staff. Not cheap by any means.

Lovely friendly welcome for our little group and dogs. Service and staff were great and accommodating. But the food? For £15 I expect something memorable from a main course. The food was tepid. It was bland and tasteless. Sauce on the cauliflower didn't taste like there was any cheese, the other vegetables were the same. Asked how the beef should be we said pink, it and the lamb arrived grey. The pork had no flavour. Had the food been warm it would probably have been worth £7.95. Perhaps it was because of the inclement weather and the place was quiet. We stayed and were made to feel welcome by the staff and had a pleasant afternoon drink. Such a pity about the unappealing roasts.

Great food. Star missing as staff slightly grumpy and service charge added to bill automatically - surely if there is no choice on this it should just be added to the main menu prices?
