Went with friends on a Wednesday night. There were only two tables, yet the service was very inattentive. We waited for long time to get attention to get the bill and then again wait to pay and at the end we just walked to the till to pay on the way out. The menu has very limited choice. The food is typical pub food, nothing special, tastes very average. Food was just warm not hot. All in all, this is a typical pub with average food and non existent service. I will not return!
Really good Sunday lunch for vegans veggies and meat eaters. Great service, clearly the landlord knows how to keep and train staff, someone was on day one and you would never know. Also great consideration given to our parents who had walkers and poor mobility. The place was packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The Mackerel and the fish and chips were great too.
Booked the back room at the Beehive for my Mothers 90 Birthday. Buffet was wonderful and they even coped with three Gluten Free guests and a Vegan guest. Staff attentive and friendly and lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend fir anyone wanting to celebrate a special occasion.
Me and my friend popped in for some food and to watch the football the other night after our chosen pub for some odd reason wasn’t showing it. Anyway our next nearest port of call was the Beehive which I actually hadn’t been to since I was a child. We were greeted by a super friendly and accommodating young lady who found us some prime seats and was generally friendly and attentive during the whole time as was her colleague. Food was good and a good choice of drink as well, so I’ll definitely be back .
We hired the room at the back for an 80th birthday party. Good space, friendly staff and a good quality buffet spread. Pub has been nicely renovated in recent years and has a decent selection of drinks behind the bar.
Came here for a family meal. The pub is very loud and blokeish and a bit on the rough side. Music was so loud you could not talk to the person next to you. The food was bog standard pub fodder, served without care or attention for example, we asked the staff bringing out a steak - "is this the medium rare or well done" and the answer was "I don't know, they just gave it to me". Maybe a good place for a white van man looking for a pint of lager with his mates, but not a good choice for a quiet family meal. Final insult is that they add a massive 'service charge' to the meal.
Great food and beer- range of costs of food available - fish and chips for £10 or so, burgers, smaller sharing plates, up to £25ish for some of the specials & steaks. Good value, big portions but tasty and well cooked. Excellent chips! Decent hand pump ales etc, light airy interior. I've not generally been that inspired by the dessert menu after a large main so don't know how good they are.
Meal for 12 some of whom were visually impaired. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent, well cooked and delivered hot and all at the same time. Good surroundings. Recommended!
food is delicious and service great. Would highly recommend
Lots of parking available at lunchtime. The menu was okay. I had a toasted focaccia bread sandwich with plenty of prawns. Plus some lovely chunky chips. It would have been nice to have a choice of bread. Very pleasant attentive staff would go again.
