We didn't stay, so ignore the room rating.. however we popped in for a drink and some food.nThe place is beautiful, a very clean traditional pub, the service was great with the staff all smartly dressed. It's dog friendly and had a lovely warming open fire.nWe ordered some food, and honestly the chicken dish I had was delicious, the sauce had an amazing deep flavour an the portion size was hearty !!nWe definitely recommend this place, it's no wonder it was busy on a Tuesday night in mid November!!

Had the most delicious meal at The Bear tonight. Could not fault it. It was perfectly seasoned and just the right sized portions. The food was served hot and a reasonable length of time between courses.nnA really varied choice on the menu and also options on specials.nnThe staff were friendly and service excellent.nnI would highly recommend the salt & pepper squid and the Welsh lamb faggots in onion gravy. Yummy!

My wife and I went for dinner yesterday. I had the slow braised welsh beef short rib. I would highly recommend. It was gorgeous! One of the best meals I've ever had and the garlic and parmesan chips were to die for.nAtmosphere was great. Friendly staff. A real quirky old fashioned pub. Not to be missed!!!

Hi there me and my brother came down yesterday. We went to the bar for dinner. I had the fish and chips. He had to Caesar salad. The food was fantastic. The staff was fantastic. The atmosphere is fantastic and we managed to get a table. I’d like to thank all the staff And thank you for making us feel welcome.

Really cosy - beautifully decorated for Christmas, with roaring log fire.nVery welcoming staff, wide choice on menu, very tasty food. And no TV, piped music or bingo machine - wonderful !nHighly recommended
