A lovely hotel with great comfortable rooms and beds. Nice bathroom with good shower. The pub of the hotel is of excellent quality and service, good variety of beers including pale ales. The food was excellent, had a roast and my wife the lamb, all good. This is how I imagine a good pub/hotel experience.

Food decent; we had baguettes on on holiday Tuesday lunchtime.  The sticky toffee pudding dessert was huge.  Gets pricey up at the top end e.g. steaks £20+

Busy Sunday lunch. We hadn't booked but were given a table straight away. Service was quick and very friendly. Sunday roast reasonable and tasty

Stayed for a family members birthday. Room was OK but very basic and very overpriced. Food was excellent and saves the whole experience. However breakfast was small and basic considering the room was 120 quid. The restaurant was excellent service good and food was excellent. However the price of the room was very very overpriced

The room was clean and newly decorated. The food was absolutely terrible; far too over priced for less than passable pub grub. It's renound as a local institution, that can be it's only draw as you wouldn't go back.
