Food was gorgeous! My non-alcoholic porn star martini was sooo good!nStaff was friendly, but service was a little slow, nothing that spoiled our experience, as we were not in a hurry, but if you are looking for a quick lunch, maybe not the best place.nnPortions were great and fair prices for the quality!nnThe desert was top notch, mouthwatering!nA place I would go back if visiting the area again.
Wow. This was fabulous! We had the best food and most friendly service of our two weeks in Ireland so far. It was a drop in last minute meal on our way to Derry and they treated us with an anniversary dessert. Wish we lived here. I’d go all the time. Thankyou Banks. Five star.
Great location to stay. Rooms are lovely and comfortable with all the amenities you could want. Location is nice and central for exploring. There is parking just down the road that is free if you park at the top end
I’ve been here for quite a few times and honestly, it used to be one of my favourite places. Always quite around 4.30pm. The food was always lovely, the staff were friendly, and it was somewhere I felt comfortable bringing my little boy, who has special needs. Sadly, today was a completely different story.nnFirst off, we waited ages for food. Long enough for my son to start getting restless and hungry, which anyone with children, especially children with additional needs, will understand can quickly become stressful. To make matters worse, a table that arrived after us got their food before we did. When I politely asked what was happening, I was told it was because they had starters. Fair enough… except one of those starters was duck, the exact thing I’d ordered!nnThen my duck finally arrived. Or should I say, waddled onto the plate still practically alive. It was completely undercooked. I sent it back and was then informed that I should have specified rare, medium or well done when ordering. Strange considering nobody asked me that when taking the order. If you’re serving duck that pink as standard, surely it might help to mention it?nnAnyway, 10 minutes later the same duck returned looking like it had simply been shown the oven from a distance. Still rare. Still blood visible. Still not edible for me, never mind for my little boy who needs his food mashed up. I genuinely couldn’t even cut through parts of it properly, never mind mash it.nnBy this point my son was fed up, hungry and losing patience, and honestly so was I. Another waitress came over looking completely confused about the issue, despite being the person who took the order in the first place. Then another member of staff cleared plates around us without so much as a “sorry about the wait” or even a smile. The atmosphere from some of the staff felt like they’d rather have been literally anywhere else.nnEventually I gave up and went to the till to explain that we simply couldn’t wait any longer because my little boy was distressed and hungry. I explained again about the duck not being cooked properly and instead of a simple apology, I got another lecture about how duck is served. At that stage I honestly couldn’t believe the argument was still going on over a piece of duck nobody at our table could actually eat.nnTo top it all off, we were still charged £10.35 for drinks. No apology. No goodwill gesture. No acknowledgment whatsoever that the experience had been poor.nnI’m genuinely disappointed because this place used to be somewhere I enjoyed coming to. But today the service, attitude and overall experience were just awful. I left stressed, my little boy left hungry, and sadly I won’t be back.
We first visited here back in March of 2025 as part of a Wedding Lunch, seated in the rear area. We had never been before but heard great things so my partner & I were quite excited to try somewhere new. Then again we decided to visit again in August '25 for a special celebration dinner.nnWell it did not disappoint on either occasion. Fabulous decor & furnishings, outstanding staff and excellent food! How was it that we'd never tried it out sooner!?nnStaff are so well presented in lovely uniforms - they're friendly, smiley and happy at their work. Such a pleasant site to see. Unfortunately I didn't catch any names but some of the female staff were fantastic with my Children. The place is well run - everyone is very efficient in their role.nnThe menu has plenty of choice and is great value. The food comes very well presented on an array of beautiful crockery and small details like the cutlery wrapped in high quality napkins didn't go unnoticed.nnI'd highly recommend The Banks and look forward to our next visit. Fair Play to the entire team!!
