Story

This Pub is found right next to one of the largest green's in Porthcawl! The Ancient Briton Pub is a traditional family run pub.Your a sure to have a warm welcome and a good pint since we have award winning ales and well trained staff! We also serve food from 12pm - 2.30pm then 6pm - pm Monday to Saturday then 12pm-3pm on a Sunday serving a Sunday lunch with three meats to choose from (turkey, beef, pork). Live entertainment every Saturday and a pub quiz every Sunday. The pub has two beer gardens, Darts bored and pool table, Kids play area and also a decent sized car park!

Stopped in today but sadly the kitchen is closed for refurb. But we were made to feel super welcome and our 14 year old loved trying the different flavour j20s whilst we played gin rummy with the cards supplied - thank you xxService: 5/5

Friendly local pub with a very pleasant outside area, and dog friendly too. I can recommend the Brains SA, lime and soda water, but most of all the delicious warm pork crackling!Service: 5/5

After a walk on the beach, decided to stop off for a drink at this dog friendly pub. Made to feel welcome. Had a cracking log fire, friendly staff and a nice range of beers. Our “quick pint” turned into several rounds as the atmosphere was so relaxing. Would visit this pub again when we’re staying locally next time. Five star recommendation from me.

01/01/2024:  Recently changed hands & still having refurbishment.   Currently no food available as the kitchen is still being refitted.  Still friendly staff & a great atmosphere   Polite staff, reasonably priced & dogs welcome.  Alas they had run out of flakes for my wife's pint of lager   Parking: Parking at the rear of the pub, shared with the Jolly Sailor.  Wheelchair accessibility: Fully wheelchair accessible but a little tight for large electrical wheelchairs.

I've rated the food, though we only had a pack of crisps lol Piper's beef . Nice interior aware they've had a refurb with a few tables tucked into nooks or window bays in the pool/dart room side. Friendly staff gave us a warm welcome. Thumbs up from us Food: 5/5

Under new management at the moment, sorting out the kitchen so no food was available yesterday, I'm sure when it's done will be a lovely pub again....

New management and busy creating a fantastic local pub. Welcoming and friendly. Can't wait for their food menus.Service: 5/5
