A typical narrow wiggling road takes you down to the Inn situated right on the beach. Very small car park so expect to pay £6/ day £4/ afternoon for the car park across the way in low season. Car park closes 4pm low season 7pm high season. A small but nice menu. Freshly cooked haddock and chips was delicious. Limited children's menu and a veggie option available. Coffee, desserts and full selection of alcoholic and soft drinks. Dog and child friendly. Can be busy so best to book a table. It's a shingle beach and the sea can be rough depending on the wind direction. If you're feeling brave bring your swimsuit and use the beach sauna. Situated in a traditional-changing-hut-type wooden caravan opposite the pub you can cool off with a bucket of water or a quick dip in the sea! Nearby activities: Beach sauna
We had lunch here twice and although it's the only place to do so on the beach in Seatown, it is lovely. The location is amazing with sea views and viewers up the costal path, but tucked away enough to avoid the weather if you are eating outside. We took a dog with us. Did was good for a pub and the service was good and very friendly. I would definitely recommend. We waited for a while to get a table on a Sunday in Feb, so book ahead.
Met with friends for lunch. Very narrow road through tiny hamlet with thatched cottages to get there, but worth the effort. Amazing spot, the pub is nestled in a cove between cliffs, right on the seafront. Quite busy, so glad we booked. Freshly cooked delicious food.Service: 4/5
Fantastic food. We had Sam serve us and she was amazing. Perfect. Made my birthday meal experience even better. Food is fantastic, beer great and the pub is so cosy. Can't wait to go back
If you ever find yourself in Dorset, you must come to this pub for the fish and chips. It was one of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend doing the beautiful 3h circular walk moderate difficulty that starts and ends at this pub. Amazing views down the coast from the cliff top. After the walk have an icy dip in the sea and then order a round of fish and chips with beers. The moules were also top notch.
We came here for Sunday lunch on a cold grey January day, and it was perfect. Quick bracing walk on a windy beach, then into a warm, welcoming pub. Lovely food, lovely staff, dog friendly, the roast was great - what's not to like?Service: 5/5
Very happy with our lunch, hadn't booked a table so was very lucky that we managed to get one. Lovely food and very friendly and helpful team. Fantastic location, just what we needed after a 4 mile walk along the cliff tops.Service: 5/5
Absolutely delicious food in a wonderful setting! Lucky to have visited on a gorgeously warm day at the end of October. Friendly and efficient service from everyone we came across. Highly recommend.
Stayed in a cottage nearby for half term, The Anchor was our local for the week. We were a group of seven, Four aduts & three children. We visited for drinks, lunch and dinner throughout the week. Each time food & service were without fault. Staff were welcoming of us and the 3 dogs we had in tow. I definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.
We came here for lunch, we pre booked a table. The Inn was very busy with families and couples. Lots of people were eating outside , even though it was February. We were given a very warm welcome ,and shown to our table. Our drinks and food order were taken quickly. My partner chose fish and chips.the fish was huge, and the chips were chunky and we think triple cooked,as they were very crunchy on the outside but soft inside. I chose a vegan option of a vegetable tagine with chickpeas, artichoke, pomegranate and prunes ,very nice ,though not mad on the prunes. Would have loved the rice pudding for dessert which was vegan , unfortunately these were all sold out :- Had to contend with a brisk walk to the top of the cliff opposite the Inn , which was amazing and far kinder to my waistline. Have to pay for parking,as there are only four parking places at the pub
