One of the best countryside pubs we've been to!! The atmosphere is delightful, with a warm fire and friendly staff! Sophie, Joseph and Dan were absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to look after us!! The food was incredible, in particular the outstanding scallops and mussels. We highly recommend this lovely and picturesque spot for a memorable experience; we will absolutely come back!
Fabulous pub in the village. The staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. We sat outside for a snack and drinks. Service was efficient and speedy. Plenty of seating areas inside and out. Carpark at the rear. Wonderful food and a wide selection of drinks. Dog friendly and family friendly.
Brilliant last minute find! We booked a table here at the last minute on Saturday lunchtime after doing the Branscombe to Beer walk SW coast path walk and back and so pleased we did! I had the pumpkin & sage ravioli which was delicious! We also had the burger which was also fab. Lovely food, the staff were all very friendly and great service. Gorgeous interiors. We turned up in our walking gear, which a few other people were in too.
Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Masons. Everything from check-in to check out was first class. David and the team go out of their way to ensure a warm welcome. We stayed in a family room where our 9 year old son thoroughly enjoyed a separate room with his own TV. There wasn't much time for TV with the fantastic walks on offer. We headed on the coast path to both Beer and Sidmouth, both strenuous stretches but great fun, we can't wait to return in the sunshine! Breakfast was a fantastic spread with plenty of delicious choices. The bar has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere where bar games could be enjoyed! The evening meals were also excellent. The 'little touches' in and around the pub and rooms are stunning and really add to the Masons Arms being one of a kind, a real gem in the St Austell Brewery chain.
We've just returned from a 3 night stay at the Mason Arms. It's a beautiful pub in the valley of Branscombe, it has so much character and its beautifully presented. All of the staff are very welcoming, friendly & polite. The food is delicious - I highly recommend the oven roasted Ballotine of chicken. It's a dog friendly pub and only an 8 minute walk to the lovely beach. The rooms are fabulous and very spacious. We will definitely be visiting again next year .
My husband and I came across the beautiful pub by accident. We decided to have a drink outside, as sun was shining. After a drink we decided to have lunch and went for the roast dinner. What a good choice. We both agree that it is the best Sunday lunch we have had in a long time. Portions where very generous and it was very tasty. Two generous thick slices of beef and huge Yorkshire pudding as well as three very big roast potatoes, with veg. Service was excellent. Thank you for a lovely Sunday lunch. Your pub is absolutely beautiful and I would highly recommend. Hope we make it back some day, to sample something else off your menu.
What a fabulous pub. This is what a country pub should be. Beautiful surroundings, thatch a plenty and a wonderful dining terrace. Staff are so welcoming. I brought my wife to the Masons and had a delicious afternoon cream tea. We then went for a walk down to the secluded beach and did a spectacular coastal walk. We then returned three hours later to the pub for a welcoming cool beer. We enjoyed our earlier cream tea that we decided to stay for dinner. We both had the fish special. The plaice were cooked to perfection. They were so fresh they just fell off the bone. Congratulations to the kitchen, we had a wonderful dining experience. Next time we will be back and book in to stay, to fully enjoy the Mason's experience. What a find. Fantastic find in a fantastic area with fantastic food and superb attentive staff.
Great visit super team Pasty looked after us very well along with Charlotte and Dave. The check in process is amazing and the receptionist Sophie is fabulous. What a fabulous place with some great walks!
Stayed for two nights as part of our honeymoon. Food is amazing thank you chef Simon for a lovely valentines meal. Patsy and Connor are amazing and super friendly. Lovely room, with everything you need and beautiful peaceful location with lovely walks. Can't recommend a better place. Thank you masons arms.
Great food and beer in a fantastic setting, there is even a whole gluten free menu. I had the mussels and can highly recommend them. The people working here are super friendly and attentive - well worth a visit!
