A superbly located hotel in the middle of town and around 150 metres from the seafront. From first arrival the staff could not have been more welcoming. The bar is very welcoming and the whole place has a great atmosphere. Nice room and a great breakfast made for a lovely stay. Highly recommended from me.Rooms: 4/5
We really enjoyed our stay here. The full English breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. The lady who looked after us was very friendly. The room was clean and tidy with all the usual facilities. It just needed a bit of a freshening up with a lick of paint. Other than that I'd recommend a stay there.Rooms: 4/5
Pleasantly surprised my friend and I booked this hotel/pub just as a stop off while exploring the Jurassic Coast and honestly it was the best! The rooms were comfortable, the staff were lovely and it was in the perfect location. I would highly recommend
Friendly, efficient bar staff and convivial pub atmosphere. Breakfast service could be improved. Our double room condition required considerable improvement sporting a faulty toilet roll holder, non - functioning extractor fan, a missing curtain retainer, grimy main lampshade, and amateur-decorated walls. A corner wall and ceiling were water-damaged with crumbling blown surface clumsily painted over. Two other wall-degraded areas were sited under the window. The wall paper in the communal hallway and stairwell were well and truly coming adrift. 'Shoddy' would best describe the internal decoration and it didn't happen overnight.
An ok stay, reasonable price at £110 for 3 of us, beds weren't the best, shower head needs replacing it's as powerful as a remote without batteries, door to family room made me feel unsafe could be easily broken into but maybe that's me watching too much crime documentaries, not adequate parking spaces, breakfast lovely but may be an idea to let guests know what isn't available before taking orders, location is perfect to the beach and plenty of food choices nearby - the malt house is amazing.
Great place to stay! Just stayed in a family room with my husband and son. We had no issues parking. Everyone was friendly. The food was lovely: we had a meal on the first night which was superb and breakfast each day was fresh, cooked perfectly and tailored to our liking. The bedrooms are dated, but YOU ARE STAYING IN A PUB and not a hotel - big difference. We had shampoo and chocolate in our room and no issues with the tea and coffee tray be replenished. I feel really bad for the B&B as they do not deserve the bad reviews. It’s not the Ritz, it’s just a nice and simple pub. There is loads to do in the town and its all great for kids. The beach is very clean and there is a really nice community spirit amongst locals. Would definitely recommend.
Pretty grim to be honest. There are better and cheaper options locally. Only stayed as they're dog friendly. Would have been happier it were at least half the price.Rooms: 1/5
Myself and my 9 year old son stayed for 1 night. It was a lovely little hotel. Room was cosy and clean. The service was very god. The lady that fronts the venue was very friendly. Breakfast was tasty. For the money you can't fault the place.
Food was not being served, and they refused us, when we asked if we could get a sandwich for our young niece, even when we were going to spend money on drinks there. Very disappointed with the woman's attitude who was talking about us to someone else. So we took our custom to the picture house which was superb.
Been sitting watching the golf here for a few hours now in the main bar area and have seen a lot of people come and go and all have been dealt with in a really friendly and professional way, as I have! It's a lovely place to visit with plenty of outdoor space too. No idea about the rooms, but the service and indeed the food, have been excellent!
