Wonderful friendly welcome, excellent food, beautifully presented & amazing taste, service was brilliant & as it was our 20th wedding anniversary too so we we're very pleased we spent our lunch outing at The Harbour Inn. Highly recommend you need to go. Very pleasant. We can't wait to return.
Cozy and tidy. Pleasant customer service. Food was reasonably priced although the chicken coating could be a little more flavoursome but the chicken was cooked to perfection. The grilled sandwiches need longer for the heat to get into the cheese and tomatoes which were fridge cold. The fries were delicious. I would still recommend though, as not everyone has the same pallet.
Popped in here for a quick drink with friends. Was happy it was very dog friendly and the staff really welcoming as well. Plenty of parking and located in a few steps of the estuary and other scenic sites.
Another lovely meal here with friends, one of whom is gluten free, most of the options on the menu could be made gluten free, he chose the fish and chips with a side of onion rings, my husband chose the same and really enjoyed it said he couldn’t tell the difference between that and the regular fish and chips. We had the goat cheese starter and the duck scotch egg which were delicious. I had the fish pie and was so glad that I didn’t order a side of vegetables as it was so filling on its own and very tasty, will definitely be ordering that again. A lovely evening with great atmosphere.
We were unfortunately unable to book first time round and being advised we may be able to get a table later we turned up at 8:40pm to be told food service finished at 8:30pm this was due to it being fully booked, so was only on the off chance, but was no less disappointing - as it happened we drove to Seaton and had a very nice Indian meal at Monsoon. We booked for the following night and I'm pleased to say it was worth waiting for, the staff were delightful, the food was fabulous and the pub itself is a lovely place to be, they almost had to have us evicted at the end of the evening 10:30pm. To top it all off if you are staying at Axmouth campsite it is literally on your doorstep, too good to miss but booking definitely recommended! I would also recommended the pizzas, we shared one as starter and it was a lot bigger than the 12" quoted on the menu and was literally dripping with cheese, delicious!
Had a fantastic Sunday roast here today. Lovely staff, dogs welcome I don't have a dog, but love other people's! We had turkey, cooked perfectly, very succulent and 6 veg, 7 if you include the spuds! Yorkshire pud was made in house and extra gravy on request. I don't know how I managed to eat it all. Excellent buttery swede. We'll be back.
We visited the Harbour Inn while on holiday, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We shared a fish platter which was delicious. I would definitely recommend a visit.
Absolutely wonderful Sunday roast in very pleasant surroundings and very warm staff. The open fire was very welcoming and there is a very nice atmosphere in the place. The beef was melt in the mouth. Everything perfectly cooked . Sadly I had no room left to sample the desserts but will definitely be back. Highly recommended
I recently visited this pub with high expectations, but unfortunately, my experience fell short. While the atmosphere and service were satisfactory, the food was definitely overpriced and not worth the cost. The menu options were limited, and the prices were higher than what I would expect for the quality of the food. I ordered a steak and ale pie and my friend ordered a burger. It was disappointing to pay £16 for just the pie with no side of mash potato's or vegetables, same went for the burger at £10.50. Additionally, the portion size was small, which only added to my disappointment. Because the meals came with no extras we had to order a sides which again was extra £3 each on top. I also noticed that many of the other diners seemed to be similarly unimpressed with their meals, which only confirmed my opinion that the food was not up to par. Overall, while I appreciated the ambiance and service at this pub, the overpriced and underwhelming food left much to be desired. If you're looking for a delicious meal, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
We hadn't visited for many years due to poor experiences. After hearing positive feedback we went for Sunday lunch and enjoyed it. Went for beef and it was very good. Excellent selection of various vegetables too. If there was one minus was there could have been more roast potatoes.
