THE ANCHORAGE INN ****

Our Guest Inn boasts 20 cosmopolitan style en suite bedrooms, all of which are finished to the highest standards.

The award winning Olde world “Anchor Bar” established in 1898 has kept its traditional charm & character with a Victorian fireplace which enhances the homely relaxed atmosphere to which all who visit want to experience time and time again.

With 8 large led screens all live sporting events are shown including the 6 Nations Rugby and live premiership football matches, so there is no better place for great atmosphere & of course great Guinness.

Food is also served on a daily basis and the menu boasts local succulent & tasty dishes at affordable prices.

Went for lunch with the wife on a few occasions now and the food has always been fantastic. I had katsu curry and i highly recommend.

Excellent pub serving a good pint of Guinness. Atmospheric and friendly. Good pub grub in the annex next door.

Brilliant restaurant! Have to say that the Cheesy Garlic Bread is a personal favourite. Imagine the sensation of a ciabata loaf cut into sections with garlic bread in-between topped with melted cheese. From there three courses for the price of your main deal, it's a perfect bargain. Of course if their amazing food has filled your dessert stomach, you can always substitute dessert or your starter for a cold beverage.

Giving it two starts as the interrior was very nice however the DJ was possibly the worst DJ I have ever heard zero mixing capabilities just cut out on songs leaving the dance floor in awkward silence, the dance club was surprisingly full for a Saturday night despite the horrendous DJ in fact he wasn't a DJ but simply an old man with an aux cord

I don't say this lightly. But is honestly one of the best bar/restaurants I've ever been to. We had four meals, each of which were exceptional. They also had fruit salad on the menu, which is a rarity. Reasonably priced and great selection of beers. Absolutely can't recommend this place highly enough. Sets the standards for what all bar / restaurants should be like.
