Drinks were nice but really pricy and there wasn't many people in so not much atmosphere but the guy serving was really friendly. We will go back but only if it's a bit busierService: 5/5
Only ever really been in for drinks but today I Popped in for a bit of lunch to get out of the heat and I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much, but was absolutely blown away with how nice the food was.. granted it’s only a duck salad, but it was probably the best I’ve ever had, prawn lollipops were 10/10 and the truffle tots were also a solid 10/10! Will definitely be back to try more
Had a great experience! Aj served us, they were really friendly and helpful. Food was gorgeous and drinks were amazing.Food: 5/5
Great atmosphere, excellent service from the bar staff. Even the doorman had a smile lol. If you go you've got to try the snowballs cocktail just for the freshly made whipped cream...Food: 5/5
The Alchemist Newcastle is a popular spot for a fun and unique night out. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect: * Theatrical Cocktails: Their claim to fame is their inventive and theatrical cocktails. Expect smoking concoctions, color-changing drinks, and presentations that involve flames, bubbles, and even mini explosions! These are definitely conversation starters and perfect for capturing those Instagram-worthy moments. * Food: While the cocktails are the main attraction, The Alchemist also offers a decent food menu. They have a variety of small plates and larger mains to choose from, including options like tempura prawn lollipops, halloumi sticks, duck spring rolls, and steaks. * Ambiance: The Alchemist has a dark and gothic-style decor that creates a mysterious and inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they're always happy to help you choose the perfect drink or dish. Here are some things to keep in mind: * Price: The cocktails can be a bit on the pricey side, but they're definitely worth it for the experience. * Noise Level: It can get quite loud, especially on weekends, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a more intimate setting. Overall, The Alchemist Newcastle is a great place to go for a night out with friends or a special occasion. If you're looking for a unique and memorable experience, then this is definitely the spot for you.
Visited here tonight for our 34th wedding anniversary. Staff and service is give 6/5. Really friendly and knowledgeable about food and drinks. Food was amazing, only down side was the steak was a bit tough and chewy but not enough to complain. Maybe we should have asked for it cooked more. I'd really recommend the sharing starter to anyone. Also got a nice hip flask with my drink to keep.
I'm gutted I did t take any photos as the food looked as sensational as it tasted. We had the rump steak cooked medium rare and the chicken in a basket with the baked mushrooms on the side. All of it was cooked perfectly and tasted unreal. The server was super friendly and attentive. We happily paid the 10% service charge and added an extra 10% on top. I'll be remembering our experience here for a long time. Vegetarian options: There were salads avaible and some starters were V but I can't remember which ones. They are clearly labeled on the menu though which is good. Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant is wheelchair accessible
Lovely halloumi wrap and salad with avocado as an extra. My partner got the dip-steak sandwich with fries which he said was really tasty. We did laugh though that he ordered Applewood Cheese as an extra and it was literally one cheese slice staff were nice and friendlyFood: 5/5
The dining experience at this place for the price is fantastic. £70 for 5 people before 10% tip is unbelievable for the quality or service, atmosphere and most importantly food. The food was amazing and the salt and pepper fries especially are literally to die for! Even the house fries are the best fries I've ever tasted. I got the vegan burger and it was incredible. My sister got a loaded flatbread, a side or fries and a side of crispy mushrooms which I even liked despite hating mushrooms for only £15. Our waiter was very nice and provided excellent service. Would definitely go again.
Never had food, just drinks and cocktails were lovely. Great atmosphere with friendly staff.Service: 5/5
