Recently came to The Elm for a date / dinner with my partner and I have no complaints whatsoever! The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was impeccable! The atmosphere was amazing; staff were very helpful and friendly! I would like to thank the staff and the chefs for the most amazing evening and meal. Will definitely be back! Maybe even to stay a night or two.
My recent visit to The Elm left me thoroughly impressed. The staff were excellent, providing attentive and friendly service throughout my meal. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant and inviting. For my meal, I opted for the Pork Belly starter, and it was an absolute delight. The flavours were delicious and left me craving for more. For the main course, I tried their homemade pie, and it was nothing short of perfection. The filling was generous and delicious, and the pastry was outstandingly well-made. In summary, my experience at The Elm was fantastic, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it. The combination of attentive staff, a welcoming atmosphere, and mouthwatering dishes make it a place I would gladly visit again. Beautiful pub and location. Menu was uninspired, so ordered ribeye steak, which was okay. Delicious bread, but whipped butter was tasteless and olive oil was cheap. Venison sausages were good, but roasted veg were simple and underdone. Was also freezing cold as wood burner not working.Service: 4/5
Stopped for lunch at about 3 o'clock when most restaurants are closed down. First time there. Lovely welcome and quickly escorted to the table. Food was lovely. Absolutely mouthwatering. I'm definitely going back. Didn't realise it was hotel too, therefore unable to comment on hotel facilities. If you are looking for a great meal, it's the place to go. Food & drinks: Excellent
Lovely food, friendly staff and a nice clean and calm setting... What more could you want on a Saturday afternoon!Service: 5/5
I had my baby shower meal here in March 2022. Beautiful building, great food and service, plenty of parking.Rooms: 5/5
Christmas Day lunch… £125 a head to be shoehorned into a table next to the over crowded bar and be neglected for an afternoon. Food was good but the service and general experience could not have been any worse. Avoid like the plague!Service: 1/5
Really lovely staff! We went on a Sunday as a family my parents, Uncle and Auntie, and my brood of children! I had roast beef Sunday roast and it was delicious! My boys also really enjoyed their meals. Will go again!
Food was amazing and way beyond expectations. very comfortable location and the service is outstanding. 7 star quality food
One of my worst experiences eating out at a Gastro Pub. The food and atmosphere in The Elm is lovely. However, service was non-existant. Took at least 30 minutes after seating to take drinks orders. We asked for tap water for the table 4 times it was brought on the 4th ask, after the meal. They forgot to bring out a portion of chips with a main meal. Food was average. After eating, we wanted to try the Whiskey selection and were provided with the menu - great! After 20 minutes, no one came to ask if we wanted more drinks/ the bill so we headed to the bar to settle the bill. The server who brought us the whiskey menu was on his phone at the end of the bar - so we don't think they had any intention of taking our whiskey order. We decided to go home and drink our Whiskey there. Really disappointing as we've wanted to try The Elm for a while. Wouldn't go back or recommend to others.
