Absolutely wonderful gastropub in Ascot. The weather was perfect and fortunately for us it was not very busy early dinner so we had almost the whole beer garden to ourselves. Service was exceptional, and there is ample parking on site although it did seem busy when we left. Highly recommended!
Delightful 400year old pub situated down a country road. Food was amazing and a great selection of beer and wine. Service was with a smile and speedy. Highly recommended.
Sunday roast was excellent! Lamb roast, nut roast, pan grilled snapper, veges that came with the roast in pictures below. Also the sticky toffee pudding was divine!
We had a lovely Sunday roast today. The customer service was first class. The food was well presented and very tasty. A lovely pub.
The service and atmosphere was lovely. The watermelon and feta starter was great, unfortunately the roast was very tough and my daughter's roast chicken was too dry. The soup she said was delicious. My husband had scampi and fish which he said was delicious. The cheesecake was delicious and the ice-cream portions were found to be very small.
This review is for the service only, the food was great apart from our 2 burgers which were very under done. Booked in for 1pm for a Sunday roast for 10 people and we left at 5pm - we waited and waited and waited - we did get 2 bottles of red and a free banana split as a gesture of goodwill but this was an 80th birthday celebration - not impressed!! Wouldn’t go back I’m afraid UPDATE: After reading your responce i'm disappointed that you feel the need to try and BLAME your customers for your lack or service? Your right it did take 30 mins to select our meals but had you said that there was a time limit then we would of chosen quickly, your running a restaurant do you not anticipate for these types of issues? It was just the lack of communication from your servers that was the issue, we finished our 1st course and had to wait a while for it to be taken away then a chesse board turned up after an hour and we all said we were waiting for our mains, then several different staff came and said that it was coming - it was all just very disorganised The gentleman who settled the bill also expressed his dissapointment with the service as they had been many times before with no issues and this occasion was tainted by the lack of service.
I took my wife here last night for her birthday. It was a great night, the staff were fantastic, the waitress who served us was very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, I had their Duck Scotch egg which was gorgeous, followed by their Beef Wellington which was also amazing. I can not recommended this place highly enough. I will definitely be back for some more great food.
Absolutely wonderful meal. This was our first time visiting this pub and we were very impressed. The staff were very friendly and professional. I had calves liver with bacon on a layer of mash with cabbage and my wife had salmon and I can honestly say it was probably the best meal we have ever had. Have already booked for another night.

Classic quality British pub experience. Nice venue. I had heard amazing things about its food but was a bit underwhelmed. Our food was fine but nothing more than that. Service and drinks were excellent.Food: 3/5
