Built in the late 1790s, the hotel has retained much of its original charm providing, for the discerning traveller, an oasis in bustling Canterbury.

Opening as a Canterbury hotel in the mid 1980s, the Thanington Hotel now consists of 15 en-suite rooms all recently refurbished to the highest standards. The public facilities include secure private parking, heated indoor swimming pool, secluded courtyard garden and private bar (with one of the largest selections of single malt whiskies of hotels in Canterbury and East Kent). All of the hotel rooms provide widescreeen or flat screen TV and free wireless connection. The accommodation consists of 5 superior rooms, including one Suite, and 10 standard rooms of family, twin or double configuration.
