I have to write a negative review for this vet clinic as my experience was not a positive one and rather weird to say the least. My cat had one slightly ingrown nail and I initially booked a visit to another vet clinic for claw clipping but they called the previous one, Thameswood, and the latter persuaded me to swap back to them which was clearly a mistake.nnFirstly, the price agreed in another clinic was £20 to clip my cat's claws, I explained the issue and the other place said they would do their best to that being ready to gently take out any ingrown claws as long as it was not infected. Thameswood called straightaway and said they would do it for £35 if we come back due to knowing the history of my cat, not sure why I agreed to this, possibly due to the history situation, but they charged me in the end £50, a consultation price, not the agreed price, so they overcharged me without asking if I agree to this.nnSecondly, after a 5 minute job of clipping nails the the nurse came out to speak to me in a condescending and patronising tone trying to shame me for overlooking the issue, even saying my cat's paws will be amputated next time which was clearly an exaggeration and was not appreciated or was necessary as I came in to a vet clinic for a reason and expected a professional service which I could have done myself should my cat not bite or scratch during the process she is also not a fan of claw clipping.nnThirdly, my cat was infected with fleas after the visit as she started to lick and scratch straight after we visited the clinic, so this place is not disinfected for this issue and now I have another issue to deal with at home.nnOverall, a rather unprofessional and overpriced service and no customer satisfaction nor for the owner, nor for the cat as she has fleas now.nnI do hope that the manager will take notice of this feedback and take necessary measures to avoid such dissatisfaction and problems for the pets and owners going forward as it is not nice to be treated like that. I would demand a refund or sue if the issue was bigger..nnJust a separate note re the reply below, once again this is not an honest clinic, overcharging, exaggerating my cat did not have 4! ingrown claws, only one was getting into the soft part and could be easily removed with a right instrument and lying as fleas appeared straight after the visit to your clinic when you let me cat roam around as said by the nurse who treated the cat, not a vet! I didn't have any conversation before the treatment with the vet, only a 'tell off' by a nurse after the treatment.
We had to have our dog put to sleep on Christmas eve after a very quick decline in her health. She was so so poorly, and in so much pain. The staff here were absolutely amazing, given the circumstances. They were patient, kind, and gave my girl a very dignified end. We couldn't have asked for more in the most difficult time. Thank you so much for taking care of our Lucy, and ensuring she's not in pain anymore. We're still so heartbroken, but your staff eased the pain a little for us. The options for urns and keepsakes are good, lovely way to ensure my Lucy stays with us forever. Thank you, once again.
Sadly I had to say goodbye to my 16 yr old terrier yesterday. I knew it was coming but was struggling to make the final but inevitable decision. The practice receptionist arranged for nurse Charlotte to call me to discuss. Charlotte was wonderful. She listened and assessed the situation and helped me say out loud what I knew I needed to do for my little old lady. On arrival Charlotte met us along with a vet apologies but I didn’t get her name who made some final health checks the outcome of which supported me in my decision. They explained the process and facilitated a calm and peaceful ending for my girl. Cannot thank them enough for their professional, empathic and kind approach. I walked feeling that we have given her the best poss ending and I felt supported and affirmed in my decision making. Thank you to both.
We very sadly had to say goodbye to our beloved family dog, he was 15 years old.nThank you, Thameswood Purton for making it as comforting as possible. The warm garden room, the lovely vet Matheus, showed compassion as its best to my family. Thank you to the staff for the kind words and care this meant so much at such a very upsetting time.n4 Days later ….nWe found great comfort to have our best friend back home with us today so massive thanks to Thameswood Veterinary Purton for the beautiful Memory Teddy and the most sentimental personal items that we as a family will forever carry with us.nTruly grateful.
Very welcoming staff, ready to help, involved, polite and very professional. I recommend this vet clinic!
