nTesco is a really great supermarket, with a wide variety of products and everything you need in one place. I especially love the Clubcard, because it offers great discounts and helps customers save money. The prices are generally good, and the staff are helpful. I really enjoy shopping at Tesco!
1 star these specific employees were incredibly rude to a customer who accidentally had spilt something after paying, the blue hijabi lady two tills before the trolley self check out was constantly yelling at him, stating he dropped it because he “didn’t pay attention”. I find this absolutely appalling as the victim here clearly was not able to stand up for himself, he didn’t know he was able to get a new one either as it was dropped in their store and clearly didn’t understand the situation. Tesco you need to train your staff better, I will be taking this further if necessary, you need to complete better customer service training as this would not pass in any other establishment and make sure you know who you are hiring because this is a form of bullying because of her power in the store.
A few weeks ago I faced the most racist encounter at this store while standing the queue for checkout. The man was standing in the queue talking to a woman in front of him the woman seemed extremely uncomfortable talking to him bc they didn’t know each other. The queue moved forward but this guy wasn’t moving ahead and I had to put my stuff on the belt. I very politely said, “ Sorry, may I pls put my stuff on the belt?” He started muttering something which I didn’t hear first, when I asked him, he said, “ Why did you ask me to move? I was standing in peace and you disturbed me. You wouldn’t have asked me to move if I was a white man.” I was so shocked to hear this. I told him that I just wanted to put my stuff on the belt and he started saying that I was an ugly and nasty woman, and I should just go back to where I came from. The cashier was seeing all this and chose to stay silent, with a smile on her face btw. The man was also common closer to me and I felt so unsafe at that point but couldn’t move forward because he was standing there. I’m so disgusted and angry by what happened and I have boycotted this tesco now. I used to go in there quite often but I’m never stepping my foot in a place where the cashier is smiling at racist slurs. Tesco, you should have security in the store and have cashiers who have brains.
Really quite upset to be physically abused by the security for trying to to shop at a store I use well for entering 8 minutes before they close. Called the police as it was far too violent . Whatever you do take care here , the security are obviously not licensed.
Terribly managed ahop. Never has enough staff on tills so queues are huge . Not unusual to have 40 or so people in queue for self service and yet half the self service tills will be off. They often don’t open the trolley self service area . Never more than 2 manned tills open and they will often close when they have a big queue waiting / just telling you it’s tough and you will have to queue a second time.nNicely refurnished . Good stock. But if you can’t pay what’s the point !
