Very nice shop for African food pondu, dried fish, crab eye beans, red chilli, ginger juice, Maggi cube, plantain, yam , salt fish, prawn, semolina, etc. I'm all set.
Local food shop caters mainly to African people, and has lots of interesting food. I have been in there to find ingera, plaintains, salt fish, etc. because I am a foodie and like to experiment. My experience was that they were friendly, but not very interested in my business. I think they could be more welcoming to non-African clientele. However, I imagine they are a key source for ethnic foods in the area.
African store in Bermondsey. Has most of your basic African foodstuff. Slightly pricey but that's to be expected around here.
