Let me start with the positives... Dog friendly Decent choice of drinks Beer Garden Now the negatives... Portion size was poor. On the accompanying sides. Sides were cold. At least 2 dishes had hairs on the plates. The staff denied anyone working there had hair like that, but the manager did. Refunds were issued for those dishes. We asked for the food to come out together as much as is possible. But it came out staggered and one meal was extremely late. The potato waffles on my daughters meal looked like they had been soaked in oil and left. No steak knives given with steak meals. I ended up giving my few chips on my plate to my daughter as she wouldn't eat her waffles. She finished her chicken strips and asked if she pull have more that's how small the portions are. Bare in mind she is only 4 and doesn't have a large appetite at the best of times. Now I hate leaving bad reviews. But I do believe in honesty. As a family we had been to this pub a few months back and we could not praise it enough. Now there are new owners it seems to have taken a tumble. I have given 2 stars because the drinks were the only decent part of the meal. We shall not be returning. Apologies once again.
Nice location at the bottom of a 9 flight of locks. A very friendly welcome from the girl behind the bar. We didn't eat but the beer and cider we had was fine. The menu is typical Marston's fare.
Lovely friendly pub, allowed us to park in there carpark for free overnight in a small VW camper, food great reasonable priced. Next to a lock, 2.carparks ...
My 1st visit lastnight we only had burgers the fries were lovely and burgers ok I wasnt too stuck on the buns though they were like frozen and defrosted the bun was hard on the the bottom, having said that it was edible and not too expensive, the locals were all welcoming and a positive visit around. I met a friend in there that told me it has just changed hands so they are off to a good start

Great pub grub. The staff are wonderful, polite and helpful, we went with 2 friends and they were also delighted with the food, the service, and the views up the locks. Thank you.
Great new landlords, absolutely cracking ale and a fantastic atmosphere. Tryed the food and what can i say other than its proper home cooked, wholesome and tasty. A place that needs to be visted. Cant recommended enough.
