I would highly recommend the Corn Exchange. Absolutely amazing pub with quality food, wide range of drinks, lovely atmosphere and background music - all for a very reasonable price! Visited last night, and was surprisingly pleasant considering it was a Saturday night of a bank holiday weekend. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, was even joking with the server who brought our food didn't catch his name unfortunately about the "challenge" dish that we had called "The Triple Threat". Lovely guy! Food was cooked to perfection and was a hefty portion to boot. Value for money was phenomenal. Can't say a bad word about this pub. Car park was very large with plenty of spacing, also very easy to navigate. Thank you!
Went there Sunday 20th November 2022. Wait was 30 minutes for food which wasn't too bad. When the food arrived my son should have had boneless chicken wings and chicken nuggets. He got something that was well over cooked and boned chicken wings. He also had a side of garlic bread that was so well cooked it was rock hard. I had steak and ale pie and it was all pastry. Not very good indeed.
Fairly generic Greene King fayre, large pub, with outside area, and car park, has 2 pool tables, dartboard, and sports screens, but is mostly setup for dining. The lack of a authentic pub experience can be summed up by the addition of plastic Hops, wrapped around the handpulls, Aaarrgh!!!
Have been here a few times recently so booked a table of 9 for Mother’s Day. Staff were fantastic very friendly and all 9 meals came out hot and tasting great! Would definitely recommend. Great value for money! Thank you
Had a lovely meal there steak according to husband very good my chicken was great too... good value for the money..staff were really really nice and helpful and got 20%off as have a blue light card...no brainer...so...going back again definitely
Average pub grub had half a Cajun roast chicken which was too dry with a bit of Cajun seasoning on the top. Dirty fries had hardly no cheese and same with the crispy bacon.. won't be going back to eat here unfortunately
First impressions not good someone called mark greeted us in a sarcastic way and made us feel as welcome as a rat. We ordered drinks that were the same but kept getting random glasses none of which were the same. Not impressed with the food at all! Took an hour for some fried foods. I ordered a sharer that on the menu states for 4 people and it wasn't big enough for even 2 people.i ordered some sides aswell to bulk up the food and ordered a bowl of chips. The chips were less than a child's portion it was a joke! Some of the food was cold some was hot and the garlic mushrooms were so watery they were horrid. The nachos in the sharer were in a balti dish which just seems odd to me . I booked this for my birthday and was embarrassed that I'd even suggested it none of us got to eat enough and couldn't order more because it would have taken too long! We will not be going there again believe me!
Hot, value for money food. Warm, friendly welcome. Cosy & clean surroundings. Beautiful daffodils for every Mom on Mother's day & free raffle tickets to win a hamper. Thank you staff.
We went to the Corn Exchange on Friday 2nd December for an early evening dinner. The food took about 40 mins to be served despite the pub being less than busy and me also having to ask a Waitress where our food was. The food itself was terrible, the steak I ordered was over cooked and burnt and the peas were cold. We also ordered a kids meal which looked awful. No one came to check how our food was and overall a poor experience as to which I will not go back there again. Attention to detail was poor and the meal and dining experience failed on every level. To any prospective customers, just don't bother as you will regret it.
Friendly atmosphere and staff. Good food. First time I'd been for 20 years, first time I'd eaten there and would definitely recommend.
