I had the full vegetarian breakfast, very pricey for the amount you receive. I wonder why there was only one slice of tomato and a frugal amount of spinach. The vegetarian patty and spinach were overly salty. On the other hand, my company had the full breakfast and it was worth the price. She enjoyed the food very much. The service was very carefree and simple. Pick a table and when ready you can go to the counter to order. I think we went on a day where they had trainees because 2 members of the staff were struggling to deliver the orders to the correct table. Regardless, they were very accommodating and kind.
Dropped by for cream tea. Scones was yummy! Appreciate it being served hot even though we waited for awhile to get served. 7£ for cream tea set, comes with your choice of tea and a heart shaped scone ; Unfortunately I spotted some lipstick marks on the tea cup I was served for my pot of tea. Guess its by the previous customer! Pls refer to videos/photos. I guess This can easily be avoided if staff spare a second to scan through crockery before dishing it out of the kitchen? Otherwise all is nice ;
Agree with the previous review that this place is a hit or miss. The smoked salmon eggs benny was disappointing. Not enough hollandaise and just a very minimalist type of plate. The strawberry milkshake was also so so. They do do good coffee though! AND lots of seating and wifi. Cakes are excellent as well and some are vegan options.
Lovely place, great for brunches. They have gluten free free bread available, as well as vegan options. Staff is nice, prices are good. It is a bit loud inside though.
Love their scone !!! So tasty! Best scone I have ever had. Highly recommend you come to here to enjoy afternoon tea.
We’ve been coming here for years and always loved it but they’ve changed the menu about and last few times we’ve been it’s not been great. The cakes are epic though
Busy Saturday afternoon, I asked for the afternoon tea, the salted caramel Madeleine was delicious, salmon sandwich were okay, everything else tasted a bit stale. Jasmine tea was very nice. Staff was not attentive, we had to get noticed multiple times for everything, from the initial order to the bill. Okay for once, but I would try something different next time.
Came here for the first time and it’s a cute place serving everything from breakfast and brunch to teas, coffees and cakes and plenty of vegan and vegetarian options not hard to be when you’re based in the Northern Quarter. It was fairly busy when I went so service was understandably a bit slow. Just bear in mind that it can get a little warm inside so definitely take a few layers off! I had the vanilla cacao tea which was lovely and ordered the carrot and coconut cake - which was bigger than my head. Seriously, it was a hefty slice of cake! I’m thinking you’re supposed to share the cake, because the portion size is crazy large and could feed a family of six. Nonetheless it tasted really nice, but I still have the leftovers in my fridge to snack on for the next 3 months. Did I mention how big the cake slice was?
Came in for lunch, great service and food. The coffee was really good, food was good. Large portions, however found the buns on the burger a bit hard.
Fantastic selection of both teas and cakes - buy by the wedge - definately worth indulging! Loads of space, great for groups as well as those intimate moments enjoyed best when sharing a huge slice of red velvet! or a brownie, or a scone the size of a dinner plate!
