I was lucky enough to win a meal for 2 at Fress in an Instagram competition. We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. We brought along our baby, and they were extremely accommodating. The venue is long and narrow. However, we still managed to position the pram without any problems. I had the Philly Steak Wrap, and my husband had the Southwest Burger. To drink, we both had an Espresso Martini, and for dessert, we shared the Pistachio Pancakes as recommended. To sum it up, the service was great, the portion sizes were generous, and the food was delicious We will be back!
My mum and I booked an Afternoon tea and we were served by Abu Sarder. The food was 10/10. We have been to a few Afternoon tea places and this is by far the best one! And I think it will be our place from now on! The fried Halloumi was amazing especially with the sweet chilli sauce, the poached egg on waffle was cooked perfectly! I loved the mini pancakes with the white chocolate and Raspberry sauce With the Afternoon Tea I ordered the Strawberry Mocktail, that was really refreshing, especially on a hot day! Honestly no complaints everything was just perfect! Best bit is, it's halal which makes it even more better. Service here was brilliant and such lovely people, will definitely be back! Dietary restrictions: Halal food is available Parking: There were a few paid parking lots within the surrounding area with only a 5-10 min walk away from the Restaurant.
A lovely brunch restaurant hidden in Northern Quarter. I ordered a waffle burger and bananaberry pancakes, also with a hot chocolate. The Waffle Burger is a piece of fried chicken, two layers of beef, and a layer of baked potato sandwiched between two waffles - the fried chicken is very tender, the beef is juicy, and the potatoes are delicious. In comparison, pancakes seem to lack the features to make an impression. However, overall the food at this restaurant I ordered is delicious. Totally is £22’5. Worth to come again.
A very bad experience, eating in the rain. There are available seats in the restaurant and the manager doesn't allow us to sit inside. It's raining and blowing outside, and we're not allowed to sit inside. I don't quite understand this behavior. Is it racial discrimination against us? My friends and I can only eat outside in the cold wind and rain. This is the first time we have received such poor service! Very disappointed... my friend and I got sick with a cold because of it. Firstly, I understand the situation where customers have reserved a location. But at that time, I asked three times if there were any available seats inside, could we be arranged to sit? Can't you be flexible? It's raining and blowing outside, and both the food and us are getting wet. Plus, there are already many empty spaces inside? Can't we sit in either? And the manager's attitude towards us was also very tough at that time, and I deeply felt that I was discriminated against! I know the restaurant is very popular, but no one was waiting at the time. We just didn't want to get into the rain, were we wrong? Later on, my friend and I could only hold umbrellas and eat outside. Did you see that? This is the first time in my life that I have eaten so unfairly
Food to die for! Went in on recommendations of my son and it didn’t disappoint something for everyone I had the American breakfast wow very tasty and filling we will be back lovely place and service we did go on a Tuesday afternoon so prob a little quieterFood: 5/5
Pistachio pancakes an absolute dream. Sat a table of 8, all meals incredible - not a bad report. 2 for 1 cocktails fantastic. Can’t wait to return for a bottomless. Staff very attentive. Great place in a great location.Food: 5/5
Food was delicious, especially the pistachio pancakes. Our steak was cooked wrong however when staff were aware they were so accommodating and nice about it! Service was great; coming back in a few days!! Definitely recommend, one of the best brunch places in MCR for sure.Food: 5/5
Fress came highly recommended by a friend, and it surpassed all expectations. From the moment I stepped in, the vibrant atmosphere, complemented by great music, set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. Despite it being a full house, the staff exhibited remarkable attentiveness and went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten-free, vegan dietary needs. Not only was the service exceptional, but the timing of the food was quick. To my surprise, they even treated me to a complimentary drink in celebration of my birthday, adding a special touch to the day . What truly stood out was the genuine care extended to my brother, who has limited mobility. The staff promptly provided us with a comfortable seating arrangement, ensuring his comfort throughout our visit. I would definitely come again and recommend others to this establishment if you are in Manchester City centre they're are certainly one of the best. Dietary restrictions: I am gluten free and they made sure to break out the menu and took the time to explain and there was precautions in place like a separate menu with lots of options for gluten free and halal. Wheelchair accessibility: My brother was disabled, and they was really accommodating and patient in ensuring he was comfortable and had
We went in to try the halal afternoon tea but were told we needed to book and give advance notice 24+ plus hours for this. I’ll definitely be doing this in the future. We stayed and tried the chicken waffle burger and steak potato hash, both of which were super delicious. The steak hash was preferred by my husband and I mainly due to the zing of the sirracha sauce as well as the texture added through the addition of the finely diced red onion and tomatoes. This was all accompanied by the crispy on the outside soft in the middle potatoes, topped off with a perfectly cooked yolky egg, all of which combined led to a pretty perfect meal. The service was excellent too, Afzal was great with his both his recommendations and friendly demeanour. I’ll 100% be returning next time to try more food, and the halal afternoon tea.
I recently went to Fress for brunch, and it wasn't a great experience. I ordered the hashbrown, cheese, and steak, and the food was cold and tasted off. I had asked for the steak to be medium rare, but it arrived very cold and rare, making it inedible as it was both cold and chewy. It seemed like it had been cooked days ago. The hashbrowns were equally disappointing they looked like someone had chewed them and spit them back onto the plate, and there was no cheese to be found. On top of the poor food quality, I had to wait around 40 minutes for this disappointing meal. I do not recommend anyone to go there.
