Taste of Cochin is our go to place when we crave for “Naadan food”. Their fish curry is always the best, just like how we prepare in Kerala. Menu has good variety of food including a bit of sea foods. I highly recommend rice and fish curry with mango. This place has nice ambience paired with soulful Malayalam music as well. A dinner in the evening with nostalgic Malayalam song and “choru with meencurry” is how I unwind. I highly recommend this place!
A gorgeous little place with delicious food. Never seen a biriyani with a full egg in it, but what’s not to love?! Portions are generous and kept the big eaters of our party happy. The only thing I could possibly suggest was that the vegetables could’ve done with some spice. Lovely guy looking after us, not intrusive but watching out for us so we weren’t looking around to catch his eye. He took lots of group photos of us and even provided candles and plates for my surprise birthday cake one of my friends brought along. How sweet is that? Wish I’d asked his name.
Visited here with my husband on his recommendation. We are both vegan and we both love Indian food and there are lots of vegan options that are a little different to many restaurants, as the food is Keralan. Everything we had was delicious and the portions very generous. We both particularly loved the poori stuffed with channa and the masala dosa. We also had a tarka dhal and tomato curry which were also great. We are not local to the area but we will definitely be back!
After my partner and I stumbled into this restaurant by chance, we couldn't stop talking about how good the food was. Now we're regulars, and it's only gotten better. In an area where there's no shortage of Indian restaurants, Taste of Cochin still stands out: Every single dish has been lick-the-bowl-clean-good. Ask the owner for recommendations; he has never been wrong. They have a nice selection of wine and beer as well. If you're in the neighborhood, this is well worth a stop!
Lovely place. Went with a friend today with absolutely no expectations but turned out having a wonderful experience. The person serving us was very kind and the food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend to others for south Indian food.Food: 5/5
I have ordered twice from this Kerala restaurant now and the food has been delicious. My favourite has been Kozhi Varutharacha Curry which is close to what we used to get at home. It goes very well with their amazing Kerala Paratha divine combination. I have tried their chicken biryani too and it is decent i need my biryani’s to be spicy. Their fish curry with mango is also recommended. Overall very happy with the food and I hope they keep up the standards.
Myself and my husband had ‘avial’ and ‘Kozhi varatharacha’ kerala-style chicken curry from Taste of Cochin and we found the dishes very authentic and delicious. Anybody who enjoys Indian cuisine especially South Indian, should definitely visit this restaurant. Five stars for the flavours.
No wonder why this place has such good reviews. Authentic Kerala food... Will definitely visit again... Loved the Semiya Payasam...
This is a real gem of a place - with a great range of more unusual dishes Keralan and plenty of things to choose from if, like me, you are vegan. It also met my basic rule for restaurant Indian food: if the poppadoms are good and the dhal is good then chances are so will anything else you choose! Both were great! Dishes I enjoyed included poori chana, beetroot thoran, masala dosa, mushroom rice, vendakka curry and a tomato curry. I’ve been twice in as many weeks and I’m not even local. I think the place needs a bit more local support as both times I went on a weekday - it was empty.
Was casually strolling around the Raynes Park station with my wife when we saw this unassuming restaurant with a rather non-eye-catching name-board. But don't let this mislead you ! We had Avial and Kozhi Vartharacha curry for the night. Starting from the aroma to the texture, this was pitch perfect with a truly homely feel about them. Authentic Kerala cuisine - just steps away from the Raynes park station !!
