"Tappeto Lounge is on the edge of the Weaver’s Wharf centre, overlooking the River Stour. We’re light and airy with a lovely riverside terrace, serving a great range of food and drinks including kids, gluten free and vegan menus in a welcoming, laid back, gorgeous big space. Tappeto means carpet in Italian, which is interesting as there’s not a scrap of the stuff in the place. Must be because we’ve got it covered."

Staff super friendly and food came really quickly and WOW it all tasted amazing I have to say I was tempted to order even more but my stomach was so full! The place inside is beautiful and quirky from the paintings to the different lampshades and furniture, really chilled out vibe great place!
Been in here a few times now, never had any trouble getting a table or waiting for food, but it does get busy. Food has always been nice, Hubby enjoys the big breakfast, I try something different every time we come in - today was the Bombay Sweet Potato & Lentil Curry - the photo doesn’t do it justice as I had already started eating it before I took the photo, sorry! It was lovely in flavour, but could have been a bit warmer! You order food via an app, nice and easy! Nice menu, bit of everything to choose from - breakfast items, sandwiches, burgers, salads, tapas even! Good drinks menu as well. Worth a visit, seating outside as well. UPDATE: Been back in here for lunch, very busy, next to no tables left at midday, 30 min wait for food, but the food is good when it gets to you. They now have a gluten free menu and a vegan menu. Order via the app from your table, which is really easy to do, or at the bar.
It’s a nice spot for brunch and dinner along the river ! Very pleasant staff, they kept on apologising for the delay as they were short of staff that day but we didn’t have to wait at all! The menu offers a wide variety of options including a lot of desserts, cocktails and milkshakes ! We only had breakfast there and it’s reasonably priced with decent portion. The hash brown was very soft inside and crunchy outside ! The fritters were delicious too! Unfortunately the chefs over cooked our poached eggs but they happily remade them for us after. The filter coffee that comes with the breakfast doesn’t taste very nice…. Overall it was a pleasant experience!
The Tappeto Lounge is located in the town centre next to the river and with local access to bus station. It had a good relaxed vibe, and very spacious. The interior has a rustic look with wooden and painted furniture with a collection of traditional and modern paintings along two walls. Has a small childrens activity area. The food was tasty with a good selection and good selection of drinks including non alcoholic beverages. Service I felt was polite, but could be improved. I did not realise I had to go to the bar to order, so I was waiting a while at the table to be serviced.
I have started to visit The Tapetto Lounge quite regularly. Large open setting with many tables to choose from. There is a wide selection of dishes on the menu...I chose a burger on the last occasion. Drinks are reasonably priced with Estrella beer available. You are welcomed on arrival and the staff all seem very friendly. Dogs are welcome which is great for me. Food portions could be larger imo but sides are available if you want a top-up on your order.
The staff here are friendly; the decor is quirky. There is a good selection of tapas and the ordering via app is really easy. The food was tasty but the cocktails were a little weak and were heavy on the ice. However, all in all, a good spot.
The place overall is really funky! Staff are kind and attentive. The food was quite a let down. My drink was forgotten but was bought out when we mentioned it. I ordered the falafel and avocado ciabatta but it was served on toast? I wasn’t told of this change and I would’ve changed my order if I knew this. Really disappointing meal and wouldn’t pay £8.50 for avocado and falafel toast.
Updating this review for balance after our last poor experience here…. We went back today for a birthday breakfast and our experience couldn’t have been more different. Staff were fabulous, the vibe was much more chilled and the guy in charge different one from the previous time was pleasant, happy and treated his colleagues and customers with warmth and style… We both recognised the guy in charge from back before covid times and although we have never got his name, it was great to see him again and evidence the change under his leadership… Tappeto was always our go to place for a lazy breakfast and today was absolutely bang on. Good food, great service and back to being on our list of favourites Welcome back Tappeto, you have been missed :
Sat here with my family as I type this. Great food and service. Tapas is great, wine is decent, good quality 0.5% beer. They cater for most tastes and are definitely worth a visit.Food: 5/5
Came on a busy Tapas Tuesday with only 3 staff BUT...... The team were incredible, there might have been a little bit of a wait on drinks and whatnot, but you could see they literally had 3 members of staff on a busy night! The general manager is amazing, he was literally seating people, bringing food and drinks to the table while keeping the place clean, putting away cutlery, and taking care of his team all while keeping a smile on his face! I wish I got their names but even though you could see they were under pressure, the service was brilliant, we couldn't fault the food and it was all in all brilliant! My partner made sure he said thank you to the staff before he left we were so chuffed! Well done to the General manager and his amazing team! We will be back! Vegetarian options: Really extensive vegan/veggie menu, I had the spiced Mexican bowl, it was amazing!! Kid-friendliness: Definitely a family friendly place, there were plenty of kids when we went Wheelchair accessibility: All one level so accessible for everyone : Dietary restrictions: Were really clear about restrictions and made sure they double checked with us if we had allergies.
