Tap N Tumbler

About

The Tap 'N' Tumbler is a traditional pub, the home of Rock 'n' Roll and Alternative Rock with regular live music and serves quality Real Ale and a wide range of whiskies.

Story

To 'those about to rock',
Next month sees the re launch of a long standing traditional city centre public house that was once the preferred meeting place of many loyal music disciples , motorcycle clubs, chapters, misfits, and outcasts of Nottingham, a welcome space where various angels with dirty faces would share their stories of life's adventures, a rebellious but respectful castle and home to kings, Queens, generals and presidents, and was truly the pillar of rock society. Namely, the TNT, yes the 'Tap' or to give it's full royal title.....The Tap n Tumbler .
For many years the Tap has been known as nottingham's premier feeder bar to the mighty Rock City, a drop by oasis for cask and bourbon drinking rock fans before the 'big gig at City', being just a rolling stone throw away. Over the years it has been managed by many different people in many different ways, but one thing that it has always been renowned for, is being simply the home of rock n roll, nothing more, nothing less, and it's about to be enhanced with some just rewards.
With all the right foundations in place, and the obvious staring rock right in the face, the Tap is to receive a face-melting- overhaul which is long overdue, a refurbishment that will warrant it being in the rock pub hall of fame! Very soon, the 'pub' is to become a 'venue' and will receive an authentic makeover with state of the art audio credibility lovingly attached, in the form of 'Lemmy',our very own 'kick ass' in-house PA and lighting system for our own shows, and we'd like you and fellow Rockers to join us on launch night.
And this deed has not been done dirt cheap! As well as a substantial financial investment, the management and team has been very carefully selected so that it doesn't become another pretencious theme bar or poor mans Hard Rock cafe. The TNT's 'crew', (who's motto is ''it's only rock n roll ....but we like it!'')will themselves be rock lovers, enthusiasts and musicians performing their hospitality roles for......rock lovers, enthusiasts and musicians, ensuring the guaranteed delivery of exactly what it says on the tin.
The new website, www.tapntumbler.co.uk, will go live in June 2013 and details of our ''cask 'n' shots 'n' rock 'n' roll'' launch campaign will be revealed shortly. So, if rock 'n' roll is your religion, please log in to be on our VIP 'guest list' for the grand re opening. You can also subscribe for free to 'soundcheck', our monthly online newsletter, find us on Facebook, follow us on twitter, or alternatively give me a call on 07957299004 for more details.

We salute you!

Rock and Heavy Metal pub so it all depends on your taste I guess. Certainly has its place in the Nottingham nightlife scene. Beer selection is grand and just look at that tankard glass! I am proof that you don't have to be a huge heavy metal fan to enjoy a few ales in here.
Great atmosphere, but quality of drinks has been bad. I understand that this place is now permanently closed, which is a shame, but the drinks selection could have been a leading part.
I stepped into the Tap 10 years ago and I've made so many life long friends. It's my favourite pub to be in as it's full of everyone you know. Such a huge family feeling. Absolutely gutted its closed right now due to coronavirus, but I hope it reopens soon so Taplife
We travelled 3 hours just to visit and this pub is incredible. Fantastic atmosphere, great artwork all around the pub, lots of safety measures in place, friendly and helpful staff, amazing music, great drinks and service. Will definitely be back.
Proper heavy metal pub. Cool interior and good soundtrack. £3.30 a Carling, £3.75 a Guinness.
Quite an old bar, well known for being a rock music pub. Gives an impression of being a bit rough and ready, but has great character. There is a decent selection of beers and other drinks. Very popular when live music is on and if you're into rock music give it a try, very easily accessed in the heart of town.
Hadn't been here in years. It's quite different now as has been done up. Really good atmosphere. Good place to go to before you watch a band at rock city!
New measures in place limiting numbers but still has the classic tumbler atmosphere
