Although we didn't have a table booked we were seated and seen really quickly. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was served quickly and it was delicious with a lot of choices. The only reason I haven't given 5*'s is because it was so hot inside, we weren't prepared for how hot it would be as it was our first time. It was a shame because it meant we didn't feel up to staying for dessert as it became uncomfortable in the heat. I'd definitely recommend it for the food and service though, just make sure you wear something cooler and not denim dungarees like I did Vegetarian options: My friend is a vegetarian and they were more than happy to change the dish she wanted to suit her needs.
We came here for a family meal to celebrate my grandfather’s 90th birthday and had a wonderful time! The food was great, and the customer service was excellent. The staff were very attentive to my grandfather, moving the table so that he could sit on the sofa and making sure he had a lovely meal. They even surprised him by bringing out a birthday cake and singing him Happy Birthday after our mains! This extra touch really made my grandfather’s day. Thank you so much for helping to give a 90 year old gentleman a great birthday! I look forward to visiting again.
Great, went for my girlfriends, mums birthday meal. Food was amazing, each curry was individually flavoured. Big shout out to all the staff. We felt at ease through out the meal and never felt rushed. The manager, dealt with a unruly customer, with utter professionalism. This individual was abhorrently rude to the staff. Big up tamarind downend
Very nice food spoilt by poor customer service. The staff aren't very friendly, borderline rude at times, and you always feel rushed. Doesn't make for a relaxing night out. You'd think with the amount of reviews saying the same thing that they'd try and address it.
My partner and I were recommended to visit the restaurant and we were very impressed with the service, the food and pleasant atmosphere. We regularly eat Indian food and this was one of the best and would definitely go again Vegetarian options: There were vegetarian options which were very appetising Parking: There was plenty of parking along both sides of the road
My first, but not last visit. Such a lovely place and fabulous food. We liked BYO drinks. Parking: General car park at the back of the Tamarind eitj a walk way through to the street.
Amazing food and fantastic service!
Really nice food but the customer service could have been better. The staff were friendly enough but I felt them lingering around my table a bit too much that I felt rushed to eat so that they could clear my table.

I’m surprised to see some reviews stating the staff were rude, it was quite the opposite on our visit. Staff were friendly and polite, checked the food was ok once served, monitored drinks without being intrusive. The manager also overheard us discussing one of our party’s birthday, which we were out celebrating, and arranged a cake without our knowledge or any additional cost. The food was great and good value for money. Would thoroughly recommend this place. I’ve been several times and the experience I describe is consistent every visit.
