locals told us this is the best curry house in Buxton well they were not wrong amazing Indian cuisine cooked to perfection and cobra on tap is always a winner We were a big group and they managed perfectly with all the food coming out together drinks topped up at just the right time. I asked for something that was not on the menu and it was no problem Be sure to book a table as it does get busy Take away is also available
We had dinner at the Taj Mahal last night and it was spot on ! Lamb chop starters , followed by garlic chilli chicken , lamb karahi accompanied with garlic naan breads and a couple of cold beers. The interior decor is modern & bright and I wish the staff were as all of them looked quite glum.... however the food more than made up for this as it was superb and portion sizes quite generous. I would definitely return so have no hesitation in recommending.
Called in quite late for an impromptu curry and was really pleased when they squeezed us in just after last orders. The service was superb as usual and so was the food. A really nice relaxed atmosphere added to a very nice evening. Despite being late never felt rushed at all. Will definitely call again, but next time get there a bit earlier to enjoy it even more.
What a gem. Great, tasty food. Very good curry and tandoori meat plater worth mentioning. Still sizzling.
Staff wanted to be elsewhere, food poor & expensive. Don’t go. ‘Special’ king prawn comes with head & shell on! Tough fish masala that tasted awful apparently isn’t awful, it’s just that most other restaurants don’t cook it right…
Food was average . Service and staff is rubbish . Only asked for a vat receipt and got mobbed by 8 staff telling me that a vat number was ok and that I don’t need a vat receipt. As I work for HMRC I don’t think I need to be told how vat works . Very rude avoid this place at all costs .
Worst staff we came with couple of my friends this staff refused to take order as we are ordering one by one. We want to try the starters and then we want to go for main course as he is lazy he didn't took our order like that and explaining the situation to his colleagues in hindi by scolding us in abusi e language as he thought we don't know hindi. Hopefully manager of the should take care about this and make it it doesn't happen again.
Great restaurant! The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The special menu portion sizes were huge too! Recommended.
Excellent food, its real curries using fresh ingredients. We ordered lamb rogan josh and all mix curry with mushroom bhaji on the side. Waiters all helpful and friendly.
This is the second time we have dined at this restaurant and this is the second time we have enjoyed superbly prepared and served food, the staff were courteous and prompt. If you are in Buxton and you fancy having an Indian meal for dinner then look no further than this, it won't disappoint.
