Located close to Walsall Arboretum & Marstons Brewery, the Dilke Arms is named after the renowned Dilke family, whose warm and welcoming approach lives on through the team at the restaurant. The food once it had arrived was excellent however it just took so long to get the food. The staff were friendly & there were no complaints in that respect. It just took too long for our mains to arrive, the rest of the pub was pretty much empty as well so it couldn't have been due to a rush.Food: 5/5
Me and my wife drop by today for a quick dinner for the first time and we were worth very impressed. Service was very friendly and the food was delicious and excellently priced. The coleslaw needed a touch of salt in it but the portion sizes are very good and it was great value for money. The beer was excellent too. Would happily recommend eating here to friends.
I'm really disappointed. Stated a cheese and onion pie but was more like mush inside it. Tried to complain about the food to the manager Jasmine. Didn't want to know because she said it was vegan. Asked her for a replacement meal but would not swap it. I had to pay for another meal despite leaving this horrible thing. Tried to negotiate, but she couldn't care less. I've been going there for years without issues. Spent a lot of money in that place to be treated like this. Awful!!
Went with friends for dinner, booked table, although location was right opposite bar, which was a little distracting. The table service was good, food was served in a timely fashion. Food was well served, although menu was a bit limited.Food: 4/5
Great food and great service. Mixed grill was lovely, steak perfectly cooked. Good value as well. They offer generous discounts with the Blue Light card.Food: 5/5
Staff here were friendly got shown to table quickly and got drinks order as we sat down. Staff were patient and didn’t rush us at all. Food was served quickly and warm. Was very reasonable priced when compared to other restaurants locally. It seems to be a small team of staff but they did very well to ensure we enjoyed our visit. One thing I would like to say though is staff could’ve responded to my brother a bit better he has autism and when he spoke to one staff member she just looked and smiled at him and didn't say anything at all which I found rather rude. But this is a small thing compared to everything else that was amazing staff couldn’t have done more for us and we all really enjoyed our visit Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan dishes available and are clearly labeled in the menu Dietary restrictions: Asked about allergies as soon as arrived and again when ordering food definitely somewhere that takes allergies seriously as some places don’t Parking: Plenty of parking spaces available and free of charge
Had another lovely meal here today. The place is clean and looked after. The staff were fantastic, serving our party and taking care of the special cake and sorting it all for us. Cannot thank them enough for their service. Also I had booked online and called to update numbers a couple of time and each time was fast, easy and no problem to them. Definately recommend th Dilke.
We held our daughters christening in the garden room in October and we were really pleased, we were able to go in and decorate the room before hand. The food was lovely and staff were really helpful with our daughters food allergies to nothing was to much trouble. We will definitely return thank you
'Mothers Day Menu' I booked here for the set menu on offer the 18th and 19th March. We were given the full menu alongside an A4 sheet of food they didn't have. I asked for the set menu I'd seen advertised as this wasn't given to us when we sat down, we were given this. 2 out of 5 starters were not 'available'. We each managed to pick a starter and a main, we all ordered the 'salmon en croute' and around 2 mins later the waitress came back to say they didn't have the sauce for the fish, but they could offer 'gravy or 'red wine sauce' with fish!! We each decided to choose something else. The food we did get was good and the service was good but half of your menu was not available. I raised my concerns with a manager who advised they've had supply issues for a couple of months. She also admitted that some of the food was infact 'available' but saved for tomorrow. The set menu was advertised for two days. If you can't fulfil it don't offer it. I booked the set menu yet I couldn't order what I wanted because it's kept for a different day yet you say its 'unavailable' and we saw some of the dishes/food items stated being eaten. I also have a feeling this is what is done between lunch and dinner service. It may be noted as 'unavailable' when it's simply being kept for a different seating. The food we did eat we enjoyed but you are driving customers away. If I was to eat here again I'd ring in advance to find out what food was available.
No one around when walked in so waited at unrended bar for 10 minutes, no one came through so left as a few tables taken but looked like they couldn't wait to leave. Not good as this place used to be really niceFood: 1/5
