Great pub with a friendly atmosphere. Food was great & the staff were friendly. They used the app to order the food & the service was fast & friendly. Came here again for the second time with friends. The staff were freindly and the food, as usual, was excellent. The service was fast and this time we had to order at the bar as the Pub was busy. Later on we had table service when we ordered dessert. The place was clean and tidy and the toilets were clean too. Overall a good experience.
Had a lovely meal today - the sharing nachos were really very good - proper nachos and a good size portion for sharing. We had Korean chicken burger - yummy sticky chicken full of flavour and chicken thighs with pineapple with a zingy chilli and lime sauce. The pace of service was good, gave us time to chat and catch up rather than rushing us through our meal and out. Staff smiled, worked hard and looked after a lot of people today - very well done Dani and team.
Nice venue and staff. Our food came out hot and quickly. Only lose one star because our drinks were a bit flat. Had a Strongbow Dark Fruit and a Coke Zero.
Stumbled across this pub whilst travelling and in need of dinner. It’s part of a chain with a wide ranging menu. The food was served promptly, it was nicely presented, hot and tasted good - what more could you ask for. The staff were pleasant and chatty. Would definitely recommend
Lovely pub by the canal. Good menu with comfortable and nice atmosphere. Not far from Shoreham town centre
Have a fantastic meal here tonight. I had Beef pie. Others had fish and chips/Scampi and chickpea curry. There were 6 of us and all meals were great and very filling for a really good price. Thank you to the lovely manager for his hospitality and kindness. We shall return.
If someone told me the story of how bad this place was, I would have said surely that can't be true. We arrived for our Christmas day dinner, we were eventually greeted and shown to a table, nothing was explained of what was happening, concerning drinks starters etc, we ordered drinks and after 30 minutes the starter arrived, my vegan starter was prawn cocktail, my stepson received smoked salmon, that he never ordered, eventually I got squash soup, which was amazing. One hour 15 minutes later the main courses arrived, my partner and I had ordered Vegan and my stepdaughter vegetarian. Ours arrived with pork and bacon, pigs in blankets and Yorkshire pudding made with milk. Also meat gravy. My stepdaughter also received pork. I politely asked if these were vegan and I was told we thought that you wanted vegetarian and I said why would you put meat on a vegetarian anyway? We left. As we had now wasted almost two hours of our lives. Not the Christmas dinner we were expecting. Obviously will not be going back to the Swiss cottage again. My perception was that there were staff shortages on the day, which severely contributed to this. Communication would have definitely helped.
We arrived, it took 40 min to be served drinks and to take our food order after we asked why we hadn't been served. Starters was cold didn't send back as we would of waited ages for hot ones, mains was warm, pudding warm and took ages to come. Service was pretty shocking and clearly under staffed for a pub that was very busy. Pub itself was lovely
Birthday party for my two daughters. Food was great and good portions, value for money. Staff friendly, excellent service and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I would recommend the Swiss Cottage to everyone I know.
We have been here a few times as fairly local. Can be hit and miss in terms of service/waiting times for food. Even when not busy we've had overly long waits for food to come out. 30+ min for toasted sandwiches is a bit much! But it's reasonably cheap and often understaffed so you pays your money and take your chances. The food is generally OK, we've never had a bad meal there.
