This place is beautiful!! With a wooded walk around the back and lavender fields at the side.. large and scenic bear garden!! Perfect day out. The food is incredible especially their Sunday roasts. We had such a lovely time here and will always go back
This place is such a wonderful treat, great food and service! The food is always very good too! I do enjoy the steak and ale pie, but the fish and chips are a nice choice too! The food is always very filling and well portioned so if your a light eater, splitting might not hurt! And don’t forget to go check out the garden behind the restaurant! It makes for a nice walk, and bring some change, they have a suggested donation to enter.
Gorgeous, friendly, welcoming pub. A hive for ramblers, dog walkers and families and bordering on the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen. Walk behind the pub and stretch your legs on an amazing walk. Lots of benches aptly placed to have a little sit down and take in the breathtaking countryside. What a hidden gem this is.
Absolutely fantastic pub. Nina and the team are incredibly accommodating and the friendliest bunch of people you’ll ever meet. 10/10s across the board. I was staying in the area over the weekend for a wedding. Nina went above and beyond to make sure were looked after. Food epic get the roast. People wonderful. Pub idyllic. J’adorable. Thanks Team!
It is sooo beautiful here, the lavender fields at the back, the fairylights at night, the beautiful building, fantastic food and drinks selection I'm non alcoholic I was attending a wedding, it was wonderful! Staff were amazing, and again, the food was AMAZING Apparently popular spot for bikers too, , sounds great for a Sunday outting! I'd absolutely come back whenever I'm in the area..
Went in Xmas eve with my partner and son. Food was lovely but the service was poor and really let the pub down. We had to get our own drinks after being sat at the table for nearly 10 minutes. We were given food menu's but they didn't give us a child's menu for our 2 year old and again had to get up to ask for one. I would visit again to hope that this was a one off
Popped in for lunch with friends. No reservation but easily got a table. The sandwiches were delicious. Good amount of filling and nice salad and chips. My only complaint was that the place was really cold and I ate my lunch with my coat on. Otherwise perfect!
Four of us met here for lunch last Sunday. Three of us ordered the beef roast and one had fish and chips. Three of us had desserts, fruity meringues and a lemon cheesecake. The servings were generous, the food was good and the service was warm and friendly. We'll certainly be back.
English country pub with great arboretum and lavender field. New visit…getting better in a way. Different menu, not so heavy…maybe for hot summer days. Walk in the woods next door. Great place to chill with good friendly service.
Lovely surroundings, great food.
