Excellent week away. I've stayed at the hotel many times, great location by the beach and walking distance of the City Centre. Staff were great and a special shout out to Ffion who runs the bar - enjoy those Cream Eggs!
There were not many reviews of the gym, so I add my comments. Gym is small but the room is fresh and bright. Two cardio, two bikes and one cross trainer. Bench and selection of weights. That’s it. I used in the evening and morning and it was empty. Towels provided but no water. TV music channel was working.nOther note, I liked that the lift had sign showing directions to the room left or right from the lift, which I found very useful.nLocation is great since just on a sea promenade. Great for walking or running.
I experienced an appalling and discriminatory bahviour at this hotel. I am a regular at this hotel and the service i received was second to none till my last stay. I arrived early at 12pm and was told to wait as the room was not ready. I agreed to sit in the foyer and requested receptionist to let me know. Strangely, I was told she couldn't, I had to come and ask in between. I went at 1pm, was told room was still not ready. Then again at 2pm, was returned back again. Meanwhile I could see, the other guests were able to check in and were allotted their rooms!!. I went to the receptionist and complained again but it was like hitting my head against the brick wall. She didn't budge. At 2:30 pm, I was told that the room alloted to me was not ready still!! and because I was in a hurry, I was allotted room 417 instead of 433 as per the receptionist! which was as good as other. Clearly my room was allocated to someone else despite of me being there for 3 hours. I clearly felt being discriminated and treated unfairly by the staff on duty. Obviously they were not aware of the British values. After reaching my room, the room had scaffolding erected on outside blocking the window. So the hotel staff even resorted to lying to me. If you are reading my review and you do not find any satisfactory response except stereotyped apology, please refrain from staying here. There are a lot of better hotels around with a better value in money and staffwise!!
Date of stay Sat 8th Feb.nHotel immaculately clean.nStaff were great, best staff service at a hotel for a long time, could not do enough for you, especially the lady greeting us at breakfast and receptionist who checked us in.nnRooms dated and really cold heaters not working only a small portable radiator but rooms were immaculately clean.nnShower I thought was a bit dangerous very hard to turn the controls for temp, shower looked old but bathroom was lovely and clean.nnWe stayed in room 412.
This is THE perfect place for a Swansea Christmas: each guest room got a gift from Santa overnight, & a truly lovely champagne brunch with poppers. Staff care & service is exceptional. Excellent location. Restaurants & pub are on site & very festivals meals are available for Christmas. We were indeed touched by the staff's many extra touches to make the a really great & festive Christmas. The marina view is worth it.
