Wow, excellent food incredible value! Prewarned I only ordered cod and peas, no chips - and just as well because even the medium was hanging off both sides of the plate. Treated my mum who, despite being almost 92, gamefully ate the lot!. Finished off with a nice cup of tea. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff
Called in this lovely little fish and chips shop/restaurant on our first visit to Wainfleet All Saints. 2 of us had the the lunchtime fish and chips special and the other had sausage and chips. The service was quick and efficient and we all really enjoyed our food. Possibly the best fish and chips we've had in a long time.
I went to this chippy on bike day August 31st. Not very good value for the money. I had battered sausage that was OK but £290 for small chips I counted 17 chips that's just over 28p per chip. I also had mushy peas I didn't get a lot for the money. Other reviews have said portions are small at not good value for the money. I won't be using them again.
I hate leaving bad reviews, but this place truly deserves it. A group of us recently ordered from here, and we all agreed that it was the worst fish and chips we’ve ever had. In fact, we couldn't stomach more than a single bite before leaving the rest untouched.nnFirst off, the fish was barely battered—what little batter there was had been overcooked, and the fish itself was small, mostly skin, and just unpleasant. The chips were absolutely awful—rock hard and tasted like they had been reheated multiple times. We also ordered a saveloy, which turned out to be battered which wasn't stated? and therefore deep-fried. It was overcooked and got a mouth full of oil when bitten into.nnThe entire meal was inedible, leaving our group without a proper meal. We had planned this as a treat during our break, but it ended up being a huge disappointment and a total waste of money. We were going to return the food for a refund, but unfortunately, the shop had closed at 19:30 and we ordered close to closing.nnHonestly, don’t waste your money here. We wish we’d seen some of the recent reviews before deciding to order as there appears to be a trend. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Had haddock and chips with a pineapple fritter. Batter on fish dark, thin and bitter with a couple of thick, pale undercooked globs, oil used to fry could be fresher but the assistant handling the fritter without gloves was the thing I objected to most. Can't fault the friendly greeting from the cook though. Total cost, with peas, just under 30 quid.
