Beautiful place, nicely decorated, staff warm and greeting, we hadn't booked, turned up for 6pm, and got placing, but wouldn't turn up later expecting to be seated. Food was lovely and alcohol is served here along with wine and soft drinks, reasonably priced, the only downside of this restaurant is the toilets are upstairs, not good for disabled people, and also you pay at the bar on your way out, very efficient and little square chocolates as a Thank You, but again to get to this it is 2 steps down and there quite steep, but if your able to do stairs excellent.... Parking: Off street parking, and parking outside for 4 cars. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchairs can get in, but accessability to toilets is a no go.
Excellent service excellent food. Great price and selection of dishes
Absolutely shocking service. Was greeted rudely by staff, and she didn't understand what we wanted as not many veg options had to go for sides options and she was very abrupt in the way she spoke to us. Service throughout by waitress was shocking. Not even a single time did she come over to ask if we needed anything or if everything was okay. Told to go to the bar to pay when I was ready and went there and nobody came for over 5 minutes of me waiting, even though staff were standing just behind me facing opposite direction. When I gave this feedback to staff, "boss" came out and was dismissive, rude and told me not to come back if I didn't like the poor service. Was not offered chocolates offered to all other customers as he did not like my feedback and told me that they "had work to do so to stop going on". Overall one of the worst experiences I have had in any restaurant and would never go back where customer service is so poor and clearly the customer is not always right when it doesn't suit the boss, even if the customer is right. Few doors away go to saffron. Better food, better service, better experience. Avoid the Gandhi restaurant!
Food wise the quality is the best I have tried in Skegness by a long way. However attitude of the staff is poor. I walked in wearing trackies and trainer's and asked for a take away menu only to have the guy behind the bar say "Are you sure you wan't to order here" There is no need to be so rude nor is it acceptable to judge a person on their appearance. Many people would have just walked out, but unknown to Mr rude I am a wealthy millionaire that was away on business in the area. The prices might put some people off as they are more like London prices which isn't a problem if you put food quality first.
Very nice food in nice surroundings. I liked the Prawn Puri.
We have had several takeaways from The Gandi and they have always been excellent. Last week we went for a sit down meal for our son's birthday. The staff were all so nice and the food was better than the takeaways. The staff were happy to bring our son's birthday cake to the table once we had finished eating.Food: 5/5
Food was excellent as was the service. Editback here again, got to say the food was spot on, really enjoyed every bit of it.
Staying in Skegness for the week and found this Indian. Has a 5 star food hygiene rating very important. The staff were excellent and the food was fabulous. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area
Awful visit, Husband ordered king prawn and they came out smelly pungently fishy. No apology given Owner is stubborn and had no concept of customer service Party of 7, had to work out our own bill at the end, the man kept clearing his calculator getting the bill wrong that lead to mistrust Toilets outdated and with a dirty hand towel Ruined our meal out Husband sick directly from the old prawns served
After a day trip to Skegness me and my wife thought we’d have a takeaway and take it home to eat, getting back home 2 hrs later we heated the starter up which was fine when we come to the main course it was disgusting no substance to the curry very watery , it was like they’d poured hot water over the chicken and added curry powder been going to this restaurant for years but after this experience probably never again
