Courteous friendly staff. Food was excellent. Well worth the price. One of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had. Delicious.
I’m a big fan of this place. The food is lovely and the portions are a good size all with reasonable pricing. The sausages are really good and I like all the flavors they have on offer. Thanks to John for serving us and being a welcoming host.
Went for a family meal, there were 9 of us altogether. The staff were fantastic and so helpful. Even though we had lactose and gluten allergies within the group, all of the meals were delicious and very good quality. Would definitely recommend!
Great food. We all 4 had dressed crab special with a delicious salad and tasty new potatoes skinny chips also available. We also had, rhubarb and apple tart tat-an, and treacle tart, both with ice cream, and extremely tasty. Very friendly staff
Very friendly service. The food is home cooked and of a good quality. There's a good variety of choice, including an Italian menu. The portions are generous. Fair prices. The decor is an old style, cosy pub. Have been several times in recent weeks, so I would certainly recommend for good pub food, not high end, but it seems very consistent.
3 of us visited for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. We got the best table in the house - right by the fireplace - in the bar area I can't express adequately how great the service staff were. Friendly, chatty, helpful, informed - they really made the birthday lunch special for my friend. And the lunch - we had the 3 meat roast and I actually didn't need to eat again until lunchtime the next day! We'll certainly be back!!
Always fantastic service and even better food... Myself and my partner have never had a bad meal here. We eat here every time , my partner on a weekly basis almost. The best place for fish in our opinion, the front of house staff are so accommodating and the venue is beautiful. Thank you!
The food was really nice and would get 4-5 stars. The only downside was that the haddock was very greasy to the point it was dripping onto the plate. The wait time for both main courses and desserts was fairly long, which would’ve still left our experience as very good, but as we were getting restless, one of us looked into the kitchen and spotted one of the chefs smoking a cigarette in the kitchen. Keeping on topic with the poor hygiene within the kitchen, the strawberries that came with our desserts had a distinctive taste of red onion, which suggests that they were prepared on the same chopping board as other foods. We feel that this is unacceptable and therefore, warrants the 2 stars given.
Hi, we would like to say a big thank you for a lovely evening and a great service! We had a very enjoyable Friday lunch, i had a homemade steak and ale pie which i have enjoyed it, and my partner had a fish and chips which was really good too. Many thanks and definitely coming back. Thank you
Very good food everything homemade and very tasty. My wife had Salmon Linguine andvi has a lovely roast beef the gravy was fantastic the meat was excellent, the vegetables where the best ones i had with my roast, perfect Sunday roast . We will definitely come back. Thank you chefs and thank you to all the very friendly staff.
