Really nice, old school pub. Beers were well kept and the service good. Quite small but a nice atmosphere. We were visiting the area for a few days and ended ip visiting three times once for food which was pub grub but done well. If I lived locally I suspect this would be my local.
If I could put zero star I would. Absolutely rude staff/landlady who apparently doesn’t like to communicate respectfully. Happy won’t be returning. Also smells like a pig farm inside - can’t imagine that’s nice to eat in.
A lovely meal with the family. Dog friendly and good sized portions with a friendly atmosphere and bar/waiting staff. Fish and chips was great and the deserts were also excellent.
Friendly pub reasonably priced food.
Nice pub, good selection of beers and really quick service at good prices
Lovely friendly staff gorgeous food, we had the shared seafood platter and homemade lasagna, really nice. 5 star rating all the way
Great proper pub , lovely staff and sunny beer garden to enjoy local real ales. Have to mention the fabulous apple crumble they do here.... you won't need to eat till tomorrow
When you have been let down by another Emsworth Pub, head to what you know. A colleague had booked a table for a bunch of us for our yearly reunion, only to be told on arrival that the kitchen was out of action. 20 years ago the Coal Exchange was my go to pub. This time also it didn't dissapoint. There was a table available, they were patient, our team never turned up on time, and the menu had a good selection of pub food for omnivores and veggies. Staff are great, Coal fire warm and on returning home, I find out it is also now my sons go to pub. He also has good taste.
Came here for lunch was very nice, I had the scampi it was lovely, my bus uncle had the pie it was really big and tasty he really enjoyed it. Its a really nice pub with friendly staff, it's dog friendly too which is always good. The prices are adequate for the food, would definitely come here again.
Friendly local pub. Warm open fire. Good choice of beers on tap. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a proper local pub, wonderful atmosphere.
