What an amazing place. History in a capsule. Hard working and enthusiastic volunteers. Great atmosphere ... and food 😊. Well done to one and all involved.

Great hidden gem. So pleased when we found this place. Great staff, excellent exhibits and very authentic mess hall complete with piano. The ladies run a nice little cafe selling homemade cakes. Thoughtful museum bringing to life realities of early air warfare and all the people it effected. The memorial is set in the middle of a large open field, the "few" who protected us from Zeppelin raids over such a huge expanse of sky in machines constructed from wood & cloth. That's bravery. One leg Man.

Fantastic original buildings and replica aircraft along with local museums at this WWI era anti-zeppelin aerodrome. Mum and I visited pre-Easter and had the tour to ourselves. Excellent café in the period mess room. At the time they had a pianola playing jaunty tunes which added atmosphere too. Barn owl nesting on site and lots of rural wildlife too, will go back.
