Absolutely fantastic. The guides are wonderful and really bring the place alive with their story telling, and the museum itself a fascinating place to step into; like it's been frozen in time. If you're visiting Birmingham (or you live here and have never visited) this is an absolute must-see attraction. Book a tour around the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter and experience what it was like to work in the Smith and Pepper jewellery factory in 1899. The building remains exactly as it did since the day the factory closed for good, the workers tools left sprawled on the work benches with jewellery littering the shelves. The museum tells the story of Birmingham's famous Jewellery Quarter, including a demonstration of jewellery making techniques, and a tour around the actual factory itself.

A great little museum. William the tour guide was excellent - very entertaining and interesting. An hour well spent. Lovely and warm as well, which is what you want in February. It was almost eerie to see the papers and machines how the last workers left them in the 80s. It really brought the era to life for me. Good selection of coasters in the gift shop.

Well organized museum. Tourguide William was great. Combination of history and practical showcasing made the tour enjoyable. Book tours in advance as they tend to be pretty busy during weekends. Cant book online on the day of the tour (they may fix this later). Nice museum shop on ground floor. Ability to walk around part of the museum while waiting for the tour and after.

I went on one of the guided tours and I really enjoyed it. The guide was amazing and I learned an incredible amount. The demonstration was very interesting and I really like how everything was in exactly the same place as it was in 1981.I would really recommend visiting this museum especially with children.

Display area is quite small but interesting (although there was another floor we didn't get to). But the tour round the old factory was interesting, informative and entertaining and the guide was very knowledgeable and engaging.
