Mission

'Nod Amgueddfa Gwynedd yw cyfrannu tuag at ddealltwriaeth o hanes a diwylliant Gwynedd a’i phobl trwy gasglu, gofalu am a darparu mynediad at ei chasgliadau er mwyn i bawb rannu yn ei threftadaeth gyfoethog.'

‘The aim of Gwynedd Museum and Art Gallery is to contribute towards the understanding of the history and culture of Gwynedd and its people by collecting caring for and providing access to its collections so that everyone can share its rich heritage.’

Oriel
Mae gan yr oriel raglen eang o arddangosfeydd sy’n dangos gwaith celf gan artistiaid lleol a rhyngwladol. Yn newid yn rheolaidd, mae’r oriel yn gyson yn cynnig ysbrydoliaeth.

Amgueddfa
Dodrefn Cymreig, tecstiliau, celf, archaeoleg, eitemau o hanes cymdeithasol… wedi eu lleoli yn hen Balas yr Esgob, mae STORIEL yn llawn o storïau o Wynedd a’r ardal gyfagos. Ymysg rhai o’r trysorau y gallwch fwynhau y mae’r Cleddyf Rhufeinig o Segontiwm, y ‘Welsh Not’, model o bont grog Telford, Coron Brenin Enlli, a llawer mwy.

Siop
Mae’r siop yn gwerthu cymysgedd o grefftau unigryw a wnaed â llaw gan gynnwys crochenwaith, gemwaith, cardiau cyfarch a phrintiadau. Mae Cynllun Casglu y Principality, sef cynllun credyd di-log, ar gael i unigolion brynu gwaith celf a chrefft gwreiddiol a chyfoes o’r oriel a’r siop.

WELCOME

Gallery
The gallery has a wide-ranging programme of exhibitions by local and international artists. Changing regularly, the gallery always offers inspiration.

Museum
Welsh furniture, textiles, art, archaeology, social history items...Located in the former Bishop's Palace, STORIEL is brimming with stories from Gwynedd and surrounding area. The Roman Segontium sword, the Welsh Not, model of Telford’s suspension bridge, the King of Bardsey’s crown are just a few of the treasures you can enjoy.

Shop
The shop sells a mix of unique hand-made crafts including ceramics, jewellery, greeting cards and prints. The Prinicipality Collectorplan Scheme, which is an interest free credit service, is available to individuals to purchase original and contemporary art and craft from both the gallery and shop.

'Seibiant' Cafe
Light refreshments to suit all tastes. Amazing cakes, 'paned' and welcome.

The friendly staff are always on hand to answer questions.

Friends
There is an active support group, the ‘Friends of STORIEL' who support the work of the museum and gallery by fundraising and advocating on behalf of the collections. New members are always welcome.
