I would strongly advise anyone considering Stonehouse Court Hotel, particularly for a wedding, to think twice.nnWe attended a friend's wedding at Stonehouse Court Hotel and, unfortunately, our experience was so poor that I feel compelled to warn others.nnWe booked our room back in January using the booking link provided by the bride, exactly as every other guest did, and received email confirmation that our reservation had been made successfully.nnAfter the wedding ceremony, we went to check in only to be told that although they could see our booking, they hadn't actually reserved a room for us and the hotel was now fully booked. Having already had a drink, driving home wasn't an option, and we only had around an hour before the evening celebrations began. We simply wanted somewhere to freshen up and get changed.nnWhat followed was an hour and a half of being passed between multiple managers, each telling us we needed to speak to someone more senior. Rather than taking ownership of what was clearly an error on their part, we were initially told that we had booked incorrectly through a third-party website. This was simply untrue. We had used the exact same booking link as every other wedding guest and were the only people left without a room. I found it astonishing that their first instinct was to try to blame the customer instead of investigating what had gone wrong.nnOnly after making it clear that this was unacceptable did they finally arrange accommodation for us at another hotel. While we appreciated that they eventually found us somewhere to stay, it meant leaving our friends' wedding celebrations early to get a taxi across, missing part of the evening because of a problem entirely outside of our control.nnUnfortunately, the problems didn't end there. At midnight, they were unable to arrange a taxi back to the alternative hotel, leaving us waiting in reception for around an hour until a member of staff was available to drive us. I want to make it clear that the member of staff who took us was absolutely lovely, but she should never have been put in that position.nnThe following morning, we were assured that a manager would investigate what had happened and contact us. Weeks have now passed, and I have heard absolutely nothing.nnMistakes can happen, but it's how a business responds that defines it. Instead of taking responsibility, we were blamed, inconvenienced throughout an important occasion, and then completely ignored afterwards.nnBased on our experience, I could not recommend this place less. The organisation was extremely poor, communication was lacking, and customer service when things went wrong was deeply disappointing.
Look we hired a room out for my mother in laws 80th birthday, what a fabulous thing me everyone had the room was exactly what we needed , the service and customer care was exceptional, I’m going to name the people that made our little party so stress free it was unbelievable, Sophie was amazing no mater what was asked of her she delivered we can’t thank her enough, Steve on reception again was brilliant did all we required without fuss , finally the young ladies behind the bar , fantastic, no waiting no wrong drinks delivered to the table brilliant. Our whole day was fantastic as early has 10.0 am tilll we left , thank you so much for a great team effort to ensure my mother in laws birthday was a day to
Stayed over for a wedding and the staff were super attentive and friendly, made us feel so comfortable, nothing was too much trouble. I asked for a toddler bed for my son and they accomadated this with a bigger roon with an extra full sized bed. I want to also mention Sophie who I take it was a manager, she was always around and always there too help. My daughter got bit by another child and she was straight on hand with her first aid, my daughter wants to stay over again just to see her, she left a great impression! Thank you all for making a special occasion so magical.
I was given a substantial discount because of shower problems during my last visit a year ago. This time we had a great room which was on the ground floor and a FAB shower. Comfy bed and quiet. It really made up for our last stay. The tv didnt work on the first night but was promptly fixed next morningnBut what spoiled the this stay was the evening meal.I had to send it back and ended up not eating because the resturant service was really slow and by the time I got someones attention my husband had nearly finished his meal. The restaurant staff .of one?seemed stressed and keeping her eye on reception while manning the busy dining room. The last thing she needed was my complaint. But we werent charged for our meals so fair enoughnBut its such a shame that the food let down the experience at this lovely hotel
