Beautiful, hidden and free 360 view point of London, I feel like more people need to know about this hidden gem. So lucky to live close by, it’s my favourite place to watch the sun set at the end of the day, or just a quiet place to sit down and centre my thoughts. You can see the shard and the city of London as well as London eye peeping through, with Canary Wharf right in your face. It’s insane.
Great little area which is attached to the ecological park. It has great views from Canary Wharf as well as back to The City. Sometimes people using the stairs to exercise can overtake things. It’s great to sit up on top of the hill on a lovely summer’s day.
This park has everything: you can do sports, walk a dog, have a picnic, feed ducks, you name it.
Great little hidden gem! You have amazing views from the top of the hill: Shard, Gherkin, Canary Wharf etc. There is a place where you can have picnic which is great. Fantastic walk through the ecological park. It changes from walks around the dock. I highly recommend!
Lovely to catch up with my dear son Matthew. Our plan was to cover the full Bermondsey to Brockley Nature Trail 6 miles we met at the start but only got as far as the Stave Hill Ecology Park. This place on maps looks tiny. Wrong! Once inside there are so many areas to explore. As a nature reserve in London for Well Being benefits this is off the scale. Often I was pinching myself that this beautiful place was just minutes away from Canada Water. It felt like I was in the heart of the countryside. This is a Gold Star for re-wilding. Big thank you to Rob from The Conservation Volunteers TCV for the GIFT of small trees which included wild pear. This selection will soon be planted at The Bernie Spain Gardens in Waterloo and The Forest Hill Library Community Garden.
Stave Hill is probably one of the most amazing view points in Rotherhithe, yet is only known by locals. Just a few stairs and you will raise above all trees within the surrounding area, with 360 views to all London, highlighting City of London and Canary Wharf.
Odd man made hill just south of the Thames in Rotherhithe. It’s an easy climb up stone steps and there are terrific views from the top across to the ever expanding number of skyscrapers in Docklands and back to the cluster of skyscrapers in the City. Apart from St George’s Wharf you can see every tall building in Lindon from here. There’s a lovely little ecological park at the foot of the hill.
Wow, an amazing place to go for a walk. Go to the top of Stave Hill for breathtaking views across London. Wander around the tranquil ecological park afterwards. Absolutely beautiful! I wrote an article for my blog, here are some photographs to tempt you!
Great 360 view from the top of the hill. The park is lovely with nature reserves. A little oasis in the middle of Rotherhithe. Popular with joggers and dog walkers. Local fitness classes here as well.
If you're in the area, Stave Hill is a great spot to get good sunset views over the London city centre and lovely hues looking eastward towards Canary Wharf. Also take a walk through the lovely natural eco park paths, woods and meadows.
