We enjoyed this tour for the most part. The host was knowledgeable about the case/s and was a good presenter. The locations were interesting and the "Ripper vision" was pretty cool. We would have liked to have heard the presenter using more respectful language to refer to the murdered women victims of Jack the Ripper. He had a tendency to objectify them, referring to the ripper 'cutting THE throat ', 'removing THE uterus' instead of HER throat etc. He also referred to the bodies of the murdered women several times as "disgusting", which was very sad to hear. Yes, the crime was disgusting, but the women were victims. We ended up leaving early and we were a bit regretful of having spent money on this. With a few small changes this could be both informative and respectful to the women who were brutally murdered.
It was one of the best walks about Jack The Ripper I’ve been through, I liked that Rob spoke about the victims in depth never forgetting they were real women, fighting to keep living every single day in those harsh conditions! Thank you again for an amazing evening!
We loved the tour and loved the way Allen presented the facts. We would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the facts about Jack the Ripper.
Absolutely amazing tour! We cannot recommend it enough! There are almost "countless" Jack the Ripper tours, so we wanted to pick a good one, and this was it! First and foremost, we had an awesome guide, M.P. Priestley! Knowledgable, personable, and fun. In what could be "boring" or "spooky," he made it actually educational. Here is the thing, a vast majority of the Jack the Ripper mythology is that his victims were cut as if the murderer had anatomical knowledge, that there was some vast coverup, etc. The list goes on and on. Many tours and books, and shows, and movies play into that, but NOT this tour. Our guide was honest and open and informed people that were unaware that, in reality, the victims were not cut up in a "surgical" manner. To the contrary, the murderer most certainly had no knowledge, including that of a butcher. It was refreshing to hear the truth on the tour instead of the mythological figure Jack the Ripper has become. It would have been recommended no matter what, but the end at the pub was beyond awesome. None of us expected us. While were were from the US, we were spending our days there with locals who know London very well, and even they enjoyed the tour, and that is saying something. Again, this is the highest of high recommends for a Ripper tour. Yes, there are others out there, and many of them are most certainly good ones. This, however, was a GREAT one, and we would do it again! Huge shout out to, again, our guide - M.P. Priestley! AMAZING person!
Very fun and informative tour. Our tour guide, Mick, was clearly very knowledgeable and personable. The videos and photos he showed really helped to show the depravity that Jack the Rippper had for his victims. Would highly recommend
Absolutely incredible tour by our guide, Alan. The projected pictures were a great help to visualize the area and the murders, but it was Alan's descriptions that truly brought the lives of the murdered women into focus. This is a must see tour. Thank you, Alan, we had a marvelous last night in London!
Mic was great and very knowledgable about Jack the Ripper. Wouldn't have wanted anyone else to give us a tour. Very nice and bubbly personality. We bought his book and can't wait to read it!! Definitely will recommend
Very interesting tour. Didn't know much about Jack the Ripper and Mick was great in providing interesting points, not only about JTR, but London and even other murders. Highly recommend it.
Very Disappointing. After one hour of walking there were only 2 short stops when we were given excessively gory information, to the level that a young girl began to faint. We walked considerable distances to be given no meaningful information about the case, and the efforts made to catch the murderer. We stopped more than once to be told nothing more than we are not stopping here. I have lived in London for over 30 years, I know the area, and I know when we are walking around in circles just to use up time. A stop at the Gherkin to be told about the Apprentice TV programme did not make up for the shortfall in information about the Jack the Ripper case, and walking around the busy streets did nothing to create an atmosphere of life in 1888.
Tour Guide was brilliant. Very theatrical but very knowledgeable. Don't agree with his theory as there is no evidence but it made a great story!
