Creaky floors. Hot shower. Clean sheets. Quiet. Breakfast delicious and service at breakfast was excellent. Nice and patient staff. Centrally located. Tesco within walking distance. We were with a smaller tour group-Rabbie’s-they booked our room. Ate dinner at another location. Would stay here again.
Very honest, dog friendly Hotel at a great location. Staff is very friendly. The room was spotless and warm.nnThere are dog walks right at the end of road, by the river.nnThey offered us one of the separate rooms at the back of the hotel. No views as it oversees the car park, but it worked for us as we didn’t have to walk the dog through the hotel and worry about leaving a mess.nnThe town was very quiet when we visited. Not many places to go for dinner and drinks, so we ended up having dinner at the hotel.nnThe food was delicious and very well prepared!nnThank you for the great stay.
Located in the city center, fresh modern equipment, the price fully corresponds to the quality. The atmosphere is friendly, the service is high quality and fast. Large convenient parking at the hotel. I give five points
Presentation ; Immaculate. The rooms were spotless and well presented, with everything you could require for an overnight stay.nnService ; The staff and owners were very friendly and welcoming. I felt comfortable and at ease.nnFood ; The chef was on holiday but they still manage to provide something simple after a long journey which was appreciated. The bar was comfortable and cozy. Breakfast was perfect with good coffee.nnI got a good nights sleep, with no disturbances, and woke up refreshed for my onward travels. I will stop here again.
Stayed here on my NC500 trip.nThere is lots parking on-site, friendly owners and a tea assortment in the rooms. Some rooms are in the back of of the hotel, directly by the parking lot which I liked a lot. Nice and easy to carry your luggage back to the car, even in the rain.nnHowever, the rooms are quite old. There were some stains on the furniture and the bed sheets. The bathroom wasn't too clean, a few hairs and dust in the corners with a bit of mold in the shower which didn't really get warm in the afternoon. Also there was no way to open the windows, so everything was a bit damp.nI paid 116€ abt 99£, which was definitely too much for the vintage Motel-feeling I got.nnStill, it's a great location and easy for a stop-over in Thurso after or before John O' Groat's.
