It's better for walking also nice view
Beautiful woodland walk - dog goes mad charging through the undergrowth. The paths get pretty boggy in the winter months though.
There are two self-guided walks around the Common, information for which can be obtained on the Harrow Nature Conservation Forum Web page. The walks take you though woodland past ancient monuments, and equally ancient trees into open heathland and a wetland. On Stanmore Common, visitors can find many woodland bird species, dragonflies, butterflies and bats that make their home here. Great for a family day out/picnic in warmer months. Parking is free in Warren Lane car park. Enjoy!
A mosaic of undergrowth including rare flora, under a canopy of secondary woodlands, meadows, archeological remnants and the artificial ponds. Though it be idyllic, a tremble of disquiet flits about. Wandering off piste from the designated trampled routes and bridal path reveals a precarious realm. Abide awhile in nature here, swathed in an envelope of tranquility.
Very good Nature Reserve with good trekking and exploring woods and you can take lots of good photos with lots of wildlife
Great place for walking and exploring, particularly good to visit in autmn if you are interested in mushrooms / photography.
Great nature place to visit and trek. Peaceful. Been here many times.
Really peaceful walk through the woods. Spotted a muntjak deer.
Fabulous open space; people need to look after it better and take their rubbish home with them!
Very quiet, nice place for outdoor activities.
