Friary Park is a delightful green space with something for everyone. The beautifully maintained gardens and vibrant flowerbeds offer a picturesque setting for a relaxing stroll. The children's playground is well-equipped and perfect for kids to enjoy. The tennis courts and bowling green provide great options for sports enthusiasts, while the charming pond adds to the park's serene atmosphere. The open grassy areas are ideal for picnics or a game of frisbee.
I recently discovered the wonderful Friary Park, and let me tell you, it's an absolute treasure. If you're looking for a peaceful escape, this place is a must-visit! As soon as I entered Friary Park, I felt like I was transported to a calm and relaxing haven. It's definitely the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature's beauty. The park has lovely pathways that lead to hidden corners and surprises along the way. Whether you're taking a walk or having a picnic with friends. There's something for everyone to enjoy. One of the best parts of Friary Park is its pretty pond. The clean water and the ducks. It's an ideal spot to sit and relax, watching the ducks go by. For families, there's a fantastic playground area that will keep the little ones entertained for hours. With slides, swings, and climbing frames. I was impressed by how clean the park is and the friendly atmosphere created by both visitors and park staff. It truly felt like a place where everyone can come together and enjoy nature's beauty. If you're looking for a refreshing escape or simply want to relax in a beautiful green space, I highly recommend visiting Friary Park. It's definitely a hidden treasure. Remember to check the park's opening hours and any specific guidelines before your visit.
This is a small, sweet park in Barnet with a pleasing path around its circumference. A large part of its charm stems from being situated on a hill with lawns leading down to a grove of trees and a hidden stream. It's lovely. For facilities you have public toilets, a playground and skate park and a pair of newly renovated tennis courts. Apparently there's also a cafe which is currently closed. The only problem is that there aren't many ways in so you do have to walk a bit to locate a gate.
I grew up as a child playing at this park, it has changed so much in 30 years! I'm now taking my kids with my parents which is really nice. It's a great playground although couldn't be flatter as its quite uneven for toddlers. The area around the swings I've noticed floods easily so thought could be remedied. The pop up cafe is is good although they don't do hot chocolate which is a shame.

Good park with lots of rides for kids and some benches for parents. The only drawback is its being smaller than other local parks and no lake. Playground: Small but efficient
Friary Park is lovely small park located off the High Road in Barnet towards Friern Barnet. It has so many essential features, including a playground, a skate park, outdoor exercise machines and two quality well maintained tennis courts. It is welcoming and peaceful with a beautiful view from a sloping green hillside, as well as a more wooded short walk around the perimeter, along a pretty brook. It is also the site of a breathtaking historical sculpture, the Bringer of Peace, which represents Queen Victoria and which was originally commissioned to stand where we now find the memorial to Prince Albert outside the Royal Albert Hall, but which Queen Victoria asked to be replaced by Prince Albert's statue after his death. Such a find. The cafe in the park has shut due to lease issues, and is out to tender. It would be such a gorgeous cafe if saved and renovated, especially its glass panelling front. It also serves as the site for a special community centre, Community Focus Inclusive Arts, which offers art programmes for youth and adults with disabilities. There are two entrances, one more accessible one being on Friern Barnet Lane. So much in such a compact lovely green space.
Lovely clean and good size tranquil park with skateboard ramps, playground, cafe and bowls club. Great place for a stroll, to meet with friends or have a picnic. The garden area wasn't up to much but not really what people go to this park for.
Decent park to go for a walk, particularly throughout the spacious green areas and the trail in which goes around the entire park. The park is very well maintained and without a doubt this makes visits to Friary a lot more pleasant. There are plenty of benches around, and a cafe located right in the centre. The toilets aren't great, but I guess they'll do. The cafe is ok, although the last time I went there which was approximately a year ago the price of a Magnum was around £3 or slightly over... Friary Park does have a good range of facilities on offer to the public. The the skatepark seems to be very popular and the outdoor gym. Usually, there are plenty of parking spaces available on Friary Road. I hope this information is useful to those who intend to travel to the park by car.
Absolutely amazing park. I live nearby and go there nearly everyday. Has a wide range of activities and things to do including an outdoor gym, skate park, cafe, children's playground, tennis courts. I have filmed a few movies at this park and they have all worked out well. This is a great place to go to on your own, as a couple or as a family. Has good cycling and running routes. Highly suggested!!!
