Interesting experience. You get to visit the catacombs of the church and the bodies that were mummified there long time ago. The guide explains who they could be and some history about it and the site. Worth a visit if you like something different.
The tour of the crypt beneath St. Michan’s happened to be one of the first things we did after arriving in Dublin and was also one of our most favorite. For seven euro per person cash only, you can venture into the crypt and hear about its history and the people buried there. And of course, the mummies! Interesting to hear about the ways they were laid into the coffins and the speculation as to why. Our guide was super knowledgeable and friendly; you could really tell he enjoys these tours and has a passion for the history. It’s best to check tour times online as they usually close around 12:45pm and then reopen at 2pm.
A stunning church just off the main drag of Dublin. This church holds some Irish mummies inside, and a beautiful graveyard behind it. If you like seeing old picturesque churches definitely stop by this one and if you have time pop in for the tour and see one of the unique sight in Dublin
The crypts are super interesting and Peter, the guide, is very nice. Explanations were entertaining and educational. A must if you are visiting Dublin.
Ireland, Dublin and specifically St Michans has Mummies!! Who would have thought. Great tour to do when in Dublin and the guide is superb with a wealth of knowledge of who is buried in the crypts.
Visit a subterranean crypt beneath St. Michan's church and see the St. Michan's Mummies along with other coffins and interesting artefacts. Tickets were 7€, the tour lasted around 45 mins and our tour guide was great and made sure we saw all the details of the crypt. Do check online for the opening times before arriving and be aware that you cannot book a specific time, just turn up and wait.
This place is little but great to visit, specially the cript and the guide-man is just the most hilarious character we can recall from our visit to Dublin. Totally worth it!!!
The oldest church in Dublin, once the only church North of the river. I highly recommend going to see the crypts of St Michan's. One of the team looking after the church will take you on a guided tour of 2 crypts and tell you about the history of them and the mummies that reside there. Worth a visit whilst in Dublin.
Helpfull tour guide and good experience No prior booking need and cost €7 per person. Recommend to visit
Such an amazing place to visit! The staff are amazing and very welcoming and knowledgeable.
