The Ambassador Theatre is located at the top of Parnell Square looking down onto O'Connell Street. It was formerly a cinema, but now it is an excellent live music venue. Alternative rock, electro, hip-hop and DJ's with musicians can all be heard regularily here. It's a Beautiful building and well worth a visit if your in dublin . In the 1890s the concert hall was used to show ‘moving pictures’ which were all the rage then and from 1910 it was used exclusively as a cinema. It had 736 seats then. In the 1950s it was redesigned to hold 1,200 people. It had a balcony for 500 people as well as private boxes. On 23 September 1954 it was reopened by the then Lord Mayor of Dublin, Alfie Byrne, with the new name of Ambassador Cinema. It was very popular as the Ambassador for many years, often showing films for the first time. It closed its doors as a cinema in September 1999 but was still used for various concerts and events.
Went for Dinosaurs exhibition which was brilliant. The guys at the ticket desk very helpful and chatted to the kids. Security man took care of pushchair and got it ready for us when we were ready to leave
Dinos were great crack definitly go again
Brought my son here to see the dinosaurs and we had a great day staff were amazing
Great exhibition..... A bit short.... But great
If you love dinosaurs ! Go !
Went to see the dinosaur exhibition, excellent.
The dinosaur exhibition was great. My little boy enjoyed it. One downside though was after paying 12 euro each to get in. The only Interactive thing for kids was the 3 dinosaur rides. Which was then charged at 1 euro a ride. No warning of this so we had no change so he couldn't go on them. But come on charge 12 each and then have to pay for the only Interactive part of the exhibition. That's just wrong.
The Dinasour exibition was great for kids, 11, 8, 5 and even 2 year old loved it.
I was there to see the Real Bodies exposition, a little strange but very interesting, only a little tight at the end of the exposition.
