Today 1/28/24 was my 1st mass in the church. I recently joined the Parish and have been watching the services on the live stream, but I knew today was the day for me to go in person. I was baptized here in the early 1980's, and after spending most of my adult life strayed from the church I am excited to be back. The father and other parishioners made me feel so welcome. I'm so happy to be a new member of the parish, and look forward to getting to be as active in the church as possible. This church is just as beautiful as I remember from when I was a little boy, and I'm humbly grateful to be welcomed back.
There was ample parking. The church was beautiful and the people were very welcoming to me, a newbie, as this was my 1st time at this parish.
We are parishioners of St. James and got married there in April 2017. I also went through RCIA classes and can't imagine anywhere else I'd rather go every Sunday morning.
The church itself is beautiful - intricate wood carvings and lovely woodwork. The 11 o'clock mass was well attended - I enjoyed the timely message in the homily. Also was quite moved by the music which was led by a talented soloist.
Beautiful funeral mass for Aunt Mary.
This church was my family & I choose to worship our FATHER. I was a member of the Parish for about 6yrs. Never felt like we're welcomed. My child & I made our frst communion here & everything. But always felt like we were outcasts. My child would sing the music here with all here soul. Ppl would always compliment her of her singing. So I asked if she would be able to join the choir. They said it wouldn't be a problem week after week she would try 2 wave hi. But they keeped acting like they didn't see her. She never knew that they were ignore her. But I did. I finally asked whn she would be able 2 start. Thn knew; thn tht because she didn't attend St. James school, she can't sing. So I stopped going altogether. I'm searching for another parish. But they will never be able 2 stop us fr Im still ING his blessings
I attended the 9am Mass on Pentecost 2019. I was pleasantly surprised - the priest deviated little from the rubrics of the Mass, the homily had content, and the organ music was thematically appropriate and reverent. I would reccomend this church to any Catholics visiting Manchester
Wish they would have stood up against the CoVid vaccine since all three are made with abortion cells. 2 of them have them in the vaccine itself and one uses them in the manufacturing. The Catholic Church again has failed us. Not coming back
Terribly disappointed with this parish. A person very dear to heart recently passed away of cancer. He was very devoted to this parish attending daily. A memorial and dedication service was planned in his memory just a couple of miles from this parish but located in South Windsor. We contacted them asking that they take an hour out of their time to show support for this man who attended every morning and also donated funds regularly. The response of the parish was contact a parish in South Windsor. This shows they truly do not care about their parishioners no matter how dedicated.
Saint james church is a beautifully designed well kept clean church the provides many more services the just sunday mass They openly accept new parishioners and all are welcome
